Restart everything. Do a hard start on the ipod, (follow these directions depending on the model you have: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1320).

Did the iPod just wipe the songs out? How did it happen? It sounds like the iPod may have had a meltdown...
The battery went dead. When I recharged it, I thought it was dead. Someone told me how to do a hard boot (holding both buttons) and then it seemed ok...but all the songs are gone. ugh..... Maybe they were gone before I recharged...I don't know. Guess I'll be uploading and reloading. I love/hate my ipod...oh...i love it more than I hate it...
I'm so sorry, you are having a bad time!! Lots of hugs :ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
Once you have them reloaded and before you disconnect, make certain the box on the first page says that you will MANUALLY manage your songs. That way it doesn't wipe everything off before it loads all the songs from your computer back on *every time*

The best solution for me is to keep all new music on the iphone (which I generally download directly onto the phone as a result of one of the apps like Shazam or Pandora.I keep a couple of mellow-out and ramp up playlists on there too. So, that has 400 songs to get me through.

The bulk of my music is downloaded to a 60G which used to be big enough - and currently has the most extensive collection (aside from the 1T Book harddrives which has everything.)

I have an old 30G photo that I used to keep everything on but now I use it just to swim with in the pool.

By far, I love the iphone the best. I always have music with me, it goes seamlessly into the car and I can download new tunes whenever I want.

But there was a LOT of frustration learning the process. Do you frequent the forums in ilounge.com? I learned a lot there.

Good luck!

Music aside, it's great to leave the macbook pro running and be able to look at Lola on the live feed on my iphone whilst I am doing my errands. :D
I hate to admit it, but I'm enjoying playing a few games on the phone while I really should be working ...
I don't think I have the intellegence to use an Iphone
I really found the iphone to be easier to use than the blackberry. You could do it.
