I Need A Favor, Please

Hi,

When I arrived at school this morning the principal asked that I speak to a student as she was very upset. Sadly her beloved pet, her Ferret, Frisky passed away. She was carrying his picture in a beautiful frame. Trying to find a way to console her I spoke about this site and suggested she write in his memory.
She is currently on another computer writing about him. It would be comforting to her if you wouldn't mind posting and offering support.
I'd really appreciate it and thanks in advance.

An age or grade level might have been helpful ;) I hope what I wrote was age appropriate.
Im on board!!im really clumpsy when it comes to typing BUT ill do my best :D
Is this the first time she has lost a pet? That is so hard....
I wish I had thought of letting my kids do something like that when we have lost pets, I think it may have helped a great deal. They still miss Sweet Pea so much....
Hi Everyone,

I just arrived home and it brought tears to my eyes all those that responded with such heartfelt support for her. I just want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you.

In my rush I had neglected to give more info but Chantel is 12 and privacy laws prevent me from speaking about her but I know she has been going through a rough time previously. The loss of her pet hit her hard.

The principal of the school is really supportive of children that have experienced the loss of a pet and this is the third time she has asked that I speak to one of the kids. I think she's a wonderful and caring administrator. At a loss of what to say to Chantel I encouraged her to just write whatever came to mind and she has posted in the Rainbow Bridge forum. (sorry had neglected to mention that in the first post but many of you found it.)

I spoke to Chantel about the rainbow bridge and then gave her the privacy of allowing her to write about Frisky. I'm so overwhelmed with the response of all of you and feel really touched that you rose to the challenge.

Thanks everyone!

Marianne
I have to say I think so many of us tried to help Chantel due to you asking us too.You are one of the most kindest, loving, generous, dont forget funny!!person I have ever gotten to know.Everyone of your post just ooooooozes love, and compassion. So it makes since to me to TRY and give you a small part back.I really hope Chantel can start to remember ALL of the fun times w/ Frisky :D
Hi Tanya,

Probably for one of the first times I'm speechless. Thanks so much for the kind words. I feel you are pretty special too. In fact, all the posters on this forum seem to have more than their fair share of compassion.

Again, I wish to thank you all for helping Chantel. While it would be nice to do this with every child that has lost a pet, I probably wouldn't. This was different. For this child, it was important to see firsthand that the world does have caring and kind individuals. I handed her 7 pages of printout today in an envelope to take home and will add more tomorrow, thanks to all of you whom responded. She held the packet close to her when she left.

You guys are awesome!

Marianne :O)
