Puppy countdown begins ~ new pics Oct 7

So the great puppy countdown begins, I am so excited I can barely stand it! :)

Panda is being bred this week, so if all goes well pups should be due around Oct 19th :)

I'll be booking an ultrasound for week five or so to confirm and possibly get an idea of how many, though ultrasound is never quite correct.

I seriously think I'm having puppy withdrawals... LOL

Oh my goodness... puppy season around here! We love hearing about them and get sad seeing them go to their new homes ...unless they become members here.

Hope the magic happens and Panda is pregnant soon!!!
:crossed: :crossed: For Panda...this is exciting with all the puppies.
:crossed: :crossed: Keeping all crossed and  for panda.

Now the wait for good news
Hoping you have great news Stacie.
I don't know WHAT to think here... (I'll put it on Dee's thread).......
Ali
We are keeping fingers and paws crossed for you and Panda
What, wasn't Panda just a puppy? Oh, yeah, 3 years ago.

I know right!! I can't believe we've seen Panda grow to be a mommy.
Panda is over 4 now actually LOL

This is her second litter, her first litter (which included Piper) is almost 15 months old now.
One week pregnant today (from the first breeding) if she took, I really have a gut feeling this time that she did and we'll be having pups in 8 more weeks.

I might bath her today, not sure if I'll shave her or not, I'm thinking not, she doesn't have a lot of coat right now and will probably only have about 3 inches when pups are born. I'll just shave her belly next month for the ultrasound.
so exciting!

we'll take four!

LOL - I almost spit on the screen....

Good luck with Panda and the potential pups.
I am so excited for you  I can't wait to hear about it, and to see all those pictures
Two weeks and one day from the first breeding and she's already eating more and looks thicker.... Her nipples are swollen quite a bit too, which I have seen in false pregnancies too, but they are REALLY big for Panda, so I'm definitely thinking we've got puppies coming! :)

Stacey that is my 25th wedding anniversary...... does that mean I get the first pick?
:crossed: Sounding good
Just a quick update... Panda is 4.5 weeks now and her belly is getting rounder every day. She's decided the couch is a comfy place to curl up if no one is looking LOL

Here is a belly pic from today

Image
How exciting.
Thanks for the update and the tummy pic
She looks big. Kinda funny to receive furbaby belly pics.
Miss watermelon is looking good, best wishes and keep the updates happening. :D

(psst Panda your figure will return  )
I love the belly picture. She is lookin' rounder!!
A quick update... this pic is from one week ago, for Panda's 6 week mark.

Image

She is 7 weeks along as of tomorrow so I'll post another pic tomorrow if I can.

She's doing very well despite the stressful couple of weeks we've had. She's a laid back girl and just takes everything in stride.
Since last week she's not allowed to play with Willy or Piper anymore, they are both young and can get too rough and Panda gets excited and bounces like a demented popcorn kernel so it's best to keep her excitement to a minimum.
I seriously wonder if their nips get sore like humans [that pins and needles feeling when milk is coming]. I hurt just looking at hers. If so, they're total troopers to feed so many all at once, and their pups come equipped with sharp teeth.

No, no teeth at first. Takes a few weeks for teeth to come in and that's around the time I start feeding pablum and puppy mush to ease some of the burden on the mum and begin teaching them to eat.
watching and waiting and hoping for all the best
oooohhhh!!!!! PUPPIESSSSSSS!!! :aww: :aww:

Please send me 2 jars of puppy breath....there is nothing better!!!!!!!

can't wait for newbie pictures!!!!!
Cant wait to see the puppy pics. :hearts:
Ooooh puppies...............I can't wait. :twitch: :excited: :twitch:

Harry would like a play date when she loses the kiddies.
Just curious..........is this Panda's first litter? The reason I ask is I have a girl that is at the 4 week mark today & I am comparing pictures here at home.

No this is her second litter. First litter was 16 months ago. She's 7 weeks today so I'm going to try to get a new pic and post it later.

Oh, how things are multiplying in that belly!!! :D

I have a friend waiting on a litter of Samoyed pups. Temp dropped yesterday am....
Ruby needed convincing she isn't going to whelp in the shower stall, so now she is confined to the whelping box. Too much belly to hop out
I assume her legs are long enough to keep her belly from dragging on the ground. Hope the whelp box is big enough for all.

LOL - that would be a basset hound problem!
Oh, the anticipation!
:crossed: :crossed: :crossed:
She's gonna need a tummy tuck after this one.
So should we start the puppy pool?

I vote Oct. 30
4 girls 2 boys

Well I clearly wasn't a math major!

Amended to:
Oct. 20
4 girls 2 boys
hmmm :lmt:

I'm guessing October 20th
4 males, 1 female
Clyde's still fatter.
I'm going with Oct 17th . 4 girls, 4 boys
I'm guessing 7, 4 boys 3 girls, on Oct 22.
Panda is 8 weeks along today

Image

I don't see much difference from last week t this week tho.
Poor girl looks ready to POP~~~~~ give her a gentle tummy rub from me and Heart!!!!
My guess is 5 adorable puppies....3 boys and 2 girls. Good luck Panda and Stacey!
Got the whelping box all ready to go? Can't wait to see the pics Good luck
I wanna rub that belly! (Gently...)
Oh, poor Panda baby, those nipples look so sore! I wonder how comfortable she is! We are due on the same day (Oct. 19th)!!!! :D Except I'm only having only one... 8)

I'll be thinking of you Panda!!!! :ghug:  :ghug:
Her temp is dropping and she is nesting a bit, her milk is really coming in too, just from yesterday to today she looks bigger and VERY full of milk.... it's only day 58 so I hope she doesn't have them today. I don't think she will though, she will keep me waiting like last time I'm sure. LOL

I can't wait for puppy breath!!!
:lmt: :lmt: :lmt: :lmt: waiting and watching this post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOOD LUCK PANDA!!!!!!!! (((and Stacie))).................

Oct.18th.............4 girls/////4 boys......
She looks ready to go any time, doesn't she? Good luck, Panda & Stacey.

My guess is

October 19th
3 girls
4 boys

Hope she has them on the 17th, thats my sons bday
Well today is day 60, she is very uncomfortable at this point, groans when laying down or getting up, poor girl.
Her temp is fluctuating but hasn't done the big drop yet. It was 99.0 this morning. I am expecting it to go to 98 or lower before things get going.
She's losing her mucous plug though and the pups are beginning to migrate downward.
:D :D   :D :D   :D :D   :D :D   :D :D

getting closer!!!

:D :D   :D :D   :D :D   :D :D   :D :D
Exciting! Dibs on a male pup! (I can do that right?)

Ooo... I hope I'm not having puppies

Dibs on a male pup!

Sigh... I want a puppy too.
Poor girl will need to have a huge litter if she's to satisfy all of our wants.

Thinking it will be Saturday with 6 girls and a boy.
Oh, no... wait... that's what I've got. 8)
4 boys and 2 girls.

All kidding aside, wishing both you and Panda the best. :hearts:
The last few days of waiting is both exciting and annoying. I'm constantly watching her to see if I see any panting, or nesting or is she doing anything at all that might mean it's almost time.... therefore I get NOTHING done. LOL
I also get very little sleep, the last 2 nights she has been digging at her bedding etc trying to go in closets too so of course I get excited and think she must be going to start soon.... last time she went 6 days over due so who the heck knows with this girl! LOL
7=5 males = 2 females.

Oct 18

Good luck!
This is an official placeholder for my guess which I will enter by editing this post just as soon as Stacey lets us know the final tally. :)
Still no temp drop or any other signs of labor but today she is very clingy, she thinks she can sit on my lap, and omg she is HEAVY 8O

:P  :P
She's funny today though... she has decided that Willy must be absolutely filthy and has been cleaning him ALL morning.
this is so exciting
Nothing happening yet... temp is 100.1 this morning so definitely not dropped.
I have been waiting to see if she went over night, a friend of mine's dog had pups all last night, 4 boys and 3 girls....I am putting my guess in for 10/20, 3 girls, 3 boys.
Does the winner get a puppy???
My official guess still will have been closest right now!
I want a puppy....
Any news yetttttttttttttttttttttt

Debsx
No news yet... today is her due date though finally :)

She woke me up with her digging in her bedding and licking herself at about 2am so I thought maybe, but nope, nothing. Took her out to pee and went back to bed.
Oh how exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love seeing the pics of them esp. what they look like around that 8 wk mark.
Oooh it has been two weeks since she has not been allowed to play. I bet she is anxious for those puppies to be out of her.

Can't wait for the pictures.
Oh my goodness.................The suspense is killing me. Puppies RULE :D

By the way, I'm guessing 5 girls, 2 boys tomorrow.
Still nothing.... temp is 99.2 so a tiny bit dropped but could easily go back up. I'm hoping it drops a bit more today and hoping for puppies tonight or tomorrow morning.
I'm getting close to making my prediction. Let me know!

:roses:
Temp is now at 98.2 :)

In the early stages it's like watching paint dry, except you don't expect the paint to DO anything.

She's snoozing comfortably now but occasionally lifts her head and has the "look" they get when they are concentrating on something.

She occasionally gets up and rearranges the bedding, so things are moving along slow and steady.
Exciting for you ...and those of us waiting to hear how many and how they are doing ..........but poor girl. I can't think she loves this next part.
Good luck for an easy time.
Cant wait to see pics. :D
:aww: How exciting!
Puppy watch!! YEAH!
Going to bed, I hope it's puppy time when I get up! :D
watching and waiting
Still no puppies. She was busy on and off in the night digging up bedding etc but no panting or anything yet.
I didn't sleep much as I was up every few minutes to check on her.
Her temp is still down today which is good but she sure is taking her time about all this LOL
She's at day 65 from the first breeding.
Tell her to hurry up. She's being very inconsiderate of others here. My fingers hurts hitting refresh.
Well, I hope for her sake and yours Stacey, that she has them today. :D

Is it storming there, like it is here? That low pressure will help bring the pups along!
It's dark here, supposed to rain all day but hasn't started yet.

I really hope she has them today too....
Stacey, how long can dogs go past their due dates before you have to intervene?
Generally anything between 58-69 days is considered normal. 63 days is average. Also taking into consideration that she may not have conceived on the first breeding but perhaps the last that took place 4 days later, and also that canine semen can survive in the females reproductive tract for 5-7 days.
Unless testing is done to determine progesterone/lh levels before breeding you never know for sure what day the bitch ovulates. I rely on the stud to know when the time is right.

Given that Panda is only exhibiting a bit of nesting and the temp drop so far but no actual contractions or pushing I'm not concerned yet. If I don't see anything going on by tomorrow at some point I will probably take her in for a check up and maybe an xray to make sure a pup isn't lying sideways or something preventing labor from progressing.

She has a little clear mucous discharge, which is good, green, a lot of blood or anything with black flecks in it would indicate a problem and a rush to the vet.

So far so good :) I do hope she starts doing something soon though! :)
I got all excited when I saw you'd posted.
Still waiting, the suspense is killing me.
