happy to be home

Were home from the Fairbanks Rain Ice and Smoke Festival  ....at last, and mostly in one piece...one cold, damp, cranky piece.

I cant believe how brutal this year was. Pretty much whatever could go wrong...did

Horrible weather (rain every day, below freezing at night), forest fires, our trailer's electric and heat not working, our new tent leaked like a sieve, I lost my glasses :x , our sales were down (by about 30%...Im grateful, actually...many folks were down as much as 70% :( ), and on the way home, the roof of our trailer started peeling away! 8O

SHEESH!

Today, my dogs and I are happily curled up on the couch doing absolutely nothing. Tomorrow I start prepping for state fair part 2... The Palmer Fair starts weekend after next. Wish me...er...luck? Or...survival? Or something...? :?

Well geeez  Sorry so much went wrong. At least you are all safe and sound and curled up together. I wouldn't go far from the couch all day! Maybe not tomorrow either!
I wish you....an uneventful event. With lots of sales and no peeling roofs... 8)

On the bright side, at least you didn't have a problem keeping the dogs cool... :sidestep:

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Doesn't sound like much fun, no. But you're home, sweet home. Enjoy it and recharge.

 yeah, there was that! I was soooo worried about over-heating...I shaved them both to the skin! 8O  My poor babies! They wound up wearing layers of jackets and curled up in blankets too most of the time. on the bright side, there was a nearby booth selling dog supplies, and I think I made her fair! She sold these awesome rubber disposable booties that were a lifesaver in the muddy conditions of the fairgrounds...Ill post some pics and the name of the company when Ive unpacked a bit! :D
Poor puppers! (and you guys too, of course  )
But, at least you can put layers on them (and you) to warm up. Just plain miserable when it's too hot and can't take things off

I hope the camper gets well soon - it's needed pretty soon for the next event. 8O
I'm going to wish for you NO RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ugh... I so remember how August was, and that can't help at all. At least you get a DAY of rest. 8O Too busy for me!!
