My dog got a car for a Birthday present!

So now that we have two OES, we needed a new car to transport both of them together. Neither of our cars were large enough. We FINALLY bit the bullet and got a Dodge Grand Caravan! Its new to us but is a 2007 with only 25 thousand miles and I Love it! White and grey, just like my dogs.

Plus, my pup turns one year old tomorrow so we told her she got a car for her birthday! ha ha...

Anyone else have the Dodge Grand Caravan? It was rated a top dog car and I am hoping it lives up to its name!
I have to add, Happy 1st Birthday to my girl Bella!

Congrats, you will love it!

We had 3 in a row, back in the 80's - 90's with the kids and dogs.
I have a bunch of dog friends with them now, they are so handy and dependable (for the most part!).
You will love your Dodge Caravan...we bought one for our dogs as well. The "stow in the floor" seating is the best. We keep the bench seat up for Violet to sit on...we call it her couch. We keep one of the center seats up as well for either China or Asia to sit on...they like to look out the window. I thn have a doggy bed blanket like thing laying on the rest of the floor for the dogs to lay on if they choose. If it is just me and the dogs in the car going some where Violet is on the couch, China on the middle seat and Asia in the front passenger seat. All of the dogs move around at some point and lay on the bedding.

One of the things I really like is the tinted windows, the dogs can see out but no one can see in. They like to stand and peer out the windows also.

You will also love the steering....I've had mine for a year and can't think of anything I don't like about it. We recently drove from Michigan to Florida in it and back again...very comfortable.

I almost forgot about the side doors....I love them. I pull in the garage and close the garage door, push a button the side doors open and the girls jump out and go right to the kitchen door to get let in. The side doors are so convient for letting the animals in and out, groceries, ect.

Good luck and happy travels.
What a gift! Congrats on the car!!!!! :)
Thats what we have, whats funny that David takes it to work (gone for 14 days) He is talking about taking the truck, so he can leave the van for the DOGS
Wow! Lucky dog that has such wonderful parents to buy a car for its birthday! LOL I loved this post.

Cool... I bought a used caravan a few years ago, it's ten years old now and has almost 300,000 kms on it but *touch wood* still seems to be ok.

I'll definitely buy another one, I've only had a few very minor maintenance things needed to be done to it, no major repairs or break downs *yet* (I have really bad luck)

When I do buy another one (probably this spring) I want a 2007 or 2006 or even a 2005, I HATE the new design. All the new vehicles are so square and boxy, I hate them.
The one I bought is a 2007 but only had 25 thousand miles on it. Looks brand new. Nothing fancy inside. Plain seats, no leather, which is what I wanted. No DVD for the "kids". Just plain inside. I love it! I plan to get vanity plates on it with something OESish on them...not sure what...any suggestions?

The only thing I didn't like was the windowns do not go down at all. So I can't open them at all for the dogs to stick their noses out! But it does hae an extra zone in the back for them for a/c and heat.

The stow and go seats was the main thing I wanted. I think this car was voted by the doggy people on the site dogcars.com as one of the number one vehicles for dogs because of the stow and go seating and all that room.

Picking it up tomorrow. If I can figurte out how to do the pictures here, I will post one of the doggys and the car!

If you get one that says OES•ORG or some such ..... :)
   Ron!!!! Maybe I will!

So we bring the new doggy car home, it is white, and we brought it home in the dark. Get it in the driveway and bring the dogs out to see...They sniff, start barking and run away...Great! It is THEIR car!!!!
It didnt smell like their car.
"It didn't smell like their car"...I hav to laugh! Even when I wash their beds, they hate it. I out the beds back down and they come and sniff and look at me like, hey what did you do with our beds!

So how about this vanity plate...."4BIGPAWZ"...

Explain...the car is for (4) big paws...My friends keep saying I should have 8 big paws since I hve two dogs...I keep saying but the car is FOR big paws...What if I get another one???Then I would ahve house of a dozen paws!
