Too old to pary?

Yeah, I'm seriously thinking I've become a real fuddy-duddy, not just a semi-fd.

Returned from an "Old Ladies' Trip to the opera" and feel rung out. This is my Water Baby friends of......what 20 years. Pool buds who have formed our own BFF group. Each year we go to the Santa Fe opera (remember DH and I are season ticket holders, so this was a rerun for me). I started a bit tired, barely recouping from DH's and my visit nights before. (some nites we don't get back home and to bed until 3 a.m.) I whipped up a "picnic" meal of stuffed grape leaves, biscotti, and a wonderful vegan dish from Delia on line (I'll post if you are interested).

Picked up some of the ladies and off we went. Two full days of gallery, museum, jewelry crawling, lap swimming, poker playing sandwiched around La Traviata with Natalie Dessay and her husband Laurent Nouri.....for you in opera, need I say more? Late night with wine and bicotti and early a.m. lap swimming. Since I have the minivan, I'm always a driver. Got home and nearly wept from being so tired. Only difference is we've cut out the margaritas, but otherwise same routine.

Could it be we are getting OLD? Everyone has white hair (even though one continues to dye her's red....wonder who?)

I wouldn't say fuddy duddy. To me, that means staying at home and having no life! And narrow minded, etc.

It just sounds like you packed too much fun into your life! nothing a few nights of good sleep and maybe a catnap or 2 won't fix. :D
Definitely not fuddy-duddy, just too much as Dawn said. I think the trick is to pace ourselves as we get older. I've learned to be picky about what I do--I know I can't (and don't want to) do it all, so I do what I really like.

Sometimes we need a vacation to recuperate from our vacation!

since I've misspelled the various titles to posts today, yeah, I need a vacation from the vacation. Too bad that won't be until Sunday. So best quit posting here for awhile until my brain turns back on.
Sounds like fun, though! I agree - if I do too much that I'm not used to, I pay for it for a few days afterwards. Geesh!

Yes, would you post that vegan recipe? My daughter is vegan and I'm always struggling with what to make her when she comes home for a visit.
OK, will do
Hey that sounds like fun. I want to come.
I'm still trying to work out what PARY means :lmt:
Pary is the same as Party.......except the T got stuck in the "still asleep" mode. Between memory holes, brain freezes and arthritic fingers, it's amazing y'all can understand what I'm saying at any given time. You must think I barely graduated from elementary school.

All kids texting and tweeting......wait until your thumbs give up and your fingers are slow to bend, especially your middle ones......you'll end up helpless and socially unacceptable.
:D Wow! Natalie Dessay!!!La Traviata!!!! :yay: I'd gladly tire myself out for that outing!! 8) I was just struggling with how many concerts I could attend during the coming symphony season here! You'll recover and how nice to think back on the fun.

Now that's funny......
hope you are well rested now!
Geesh, I remember the days.........sigh
Oh Susan, i want to go to your party next year!!!!! I so miss the Santa Fe Opera........... we are in the middle of the Film Festival here. Someone said they saw the 'jolie/pitts' walking around yesterday. I said oh great, just what this town needs, more tourist!

This beautiful parochia went from around 40,000 people a5 years ago to now 140,000 thousand. then you ad the tourist on top of that. I may be looking for a bit of land out al campo, a couple of hectors, if we are to stay here permanently. too many people.

We have wind here that starts EVERY evening around 7 pm and BLOWS for about 2 hours. I mean blows. and with it comes the DIRT, and the pollen. This is supposedly the rainy season but we have had no rain for so long. I think we need the aztec dancers to come back and do the rain dance. Maybe go sacrifice a chicken or something????? Send us some good vibes we need it.

I do promise i will try to put some pictures up. You guys know me, i'm just not that techie. I'll take the camera over to Fred tomorrow and havehim git a looking look. No shows for a cople of weeks. Needto get Alicia over to bath everyone before the blessed even comes upon us.

Mas Tarde!
