Bandaids & Bandaids - grooming injuries

I don't know if I'm the clumbsiest person in the world, or if Asterisk is using telekinesis to injure me.

It seems that at least once weekly, I end up with a grooming injury. I was brushing out a matt on her front leg once, she moved away, and I got a nice long cut from the two sided comb. It was hard to discern that scratch from Wendel's scratches he leaves on my arms from his hugs.

Last night was the worst though. I was working on a matt at Asterisk's neck when the matt gave unexpectedly, and I punchered my cheek with the two sided comb. Luckily, it missed my eye by an inch. Since I'm a pasty chick, I have a nice little bruise around the puncture mark.

My hyphothesis is that Asterisk is using her mental powers to fling the comb back onto my body and scratch me. It only ever happens with her, never with Wendel.

Asterisk will generally stand on the table and give me a hug. Which consists of her leaning on my chest and putting her head on my shoulder.

Has anyone else ever gotten injured while grooming or is it just me?

Nope, I cut the very tip of my middle finger off while shaping Edgar's ear hair with a new pair of scissors.

Ouch - and I thought it was bad when I liced mine with a sharp thinning shears this weekend (all I could think was "don't bleed in the whites" :D )
OUCH yep done it too, I should be banned from anything sharp

Also cut a dogs paw pad once she chook kicked out just as I snipped
I regularly stab myself on the bristles of slickers. They're sharp and really pierce and make you bleed!

OK, so it's not just me. I do this all the time. Especially when slickering Belle's feet because she wiggles and squirms and carries on. It does remind me to switch to a softer slicker though. And, yeah, it hurts like...!!!

I tend to end up sitting on some of these sharp objects while grooming.
I was amazed I made it through Chewie's trim down with no scissors related injuries - to either one of us 8O

I did however jam a pin from the pin brush under my thumbnail pretty far and made a bloody mess.....
It was right at the beginning and I thought I was in for a bad day, starting off like that.
It was the only booboo, so I guess I can chalk it up to not being coordinated that soon after waking up.
I've caught myself with the wide toothed comb a few times, usually on the leg as I groom in the floor.

Well, that'll teach me to snicker at other people's even more ineptness than me. I read this and thought: how do you cut yourself with thinning scissors?

I was working on Belle this a.m. and now I know

My thinning scissors are the sharpest, I somehow forget because the ends look squarey but they get me every time.
