Anyone near the Galleria area in Houston?

My cousin Isabella just moved from NY.
So she obviously doesn't know much about the area.
She just got a job at a very prestgious private high school there.
She also just adopted an adorable little Beagle mix, her first dog ever!

If anyone can give her any advice about the area, the best bark parks, etc... or is looking for a babysitter, please pm me and I will send her info...
Also she loves Sheepdogs!

Lulu&Michelle is also from the area, but I can't remember "Where."

Here's what I know about Galleria. Most famously known from what I can tell for their mall. It's a ritzy mall where you won't find too many ugly people. Across the street'ish is the Central Market which is soooooo awesome. Men joke all the time that they go there during their lunch break just to stare at the trophy wives wearing their tennis outfits. We went last weekend and we saw 4 yo girls with Louis Vuitton & Burberry bags totally strutting their stuff. Getting a mental picture? We're always pointing out all the cars when we go since we're no where NEAR that lifestyle  It's just the place to go b/c it's the closest pottery barn, crate & barrel & williams & sonoma (where i get all my things)!!!

Most popular spots for dining esp when she has a date (you said single right?) b/c I'd never pay for these places myself are:

gigi, grotto, maggianos for drinks, cafe express, Del Friscos, trulucks ...then of course you have things like rain forest cafe and cheesecake factory there.

I am not near Galleria, but I'm relatively close. That probably didn't make sense but there are some areas in Houston that are an hour away.

I also know if she's looking for a place to take her dog, there's a dog park on Westpark just inside the loop. She might be able to meet some fellow dog-owners there.
Thank for responding Mrs. J! My fiance was in Houston for business last week and flying back out for this coming week. I sounded so smart with all these dining suggestions  Apparently the Hilton he is staying in has a dress code for their dining room, and he was not into rubbing elbows with the upper crust.
So, thanks again for posting the info. He was a little worried when he found out what my source was, assumming that I had arranged for a rescue or a puppy to be dropped off at the hotel for him to fly home with! He knows me too well already
