Candy bars

Easy question:

What are your three favorite candy bars? Mine are:

Baby Ruth
Plain Hershey bar
Chunkie

MMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......

Fruit & Nut
Hands down, the best chocolate bar I have tasted is

Freia Melkesjokolade which we get shipped from Norway. It's soooooooooo dang good b/c the milk chocolate is so soft that it melts in your mouth.

Toblerone

twix (never get tired of eating this in two layers, the caramel first then the butter-cookie ...even if it grosses people out)
1. Snickers

2. Heath

3. M&M Peanuts (not a candybar but soo good)
^^

I've always preferred w/peanuts for M&M's too! As a child, I'd eat around the peanut then eat the peanut. I like to make eating difficult.
I can't limit it to three - top four (at this stage of my life) in no particular order:

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
Hershey's with Almonds
Payday
Three Muskateers
Ugh right at lunch time you must torture me?!

-Caramello
-Whatchamacallit
-Butterfinger (frozen mmmm)
Should a WW leader be asking that question???

I haven't met many candy bars I don't like, but my faves would be Reese Peanut Butter Cups, plain M&Ms, and Hershey Bars (with or without almonds).
My fav bars??? mmmhh....

1) Snickers

2) Lion

3) Toffifee

4) Pralines with alcohol inside (german!)
Peanut Butter Twix (Not the kind with the chocolate wafer, the original one.)
Reeses Peanut Buttercups (I actually ate them so often in junior high that my friends called me Reeses.)
Pay Day..

Are we seeing a trend here?

Butterfingers are what started me thinking about this! For some reason...I thought about butterfingers and realized I hadn't seen them for a long time, and wondered if they were still being made. So, I asked the women I work with and they said yes, and we started talking about candy bar favorites.

Paula...the reason I don't see Butterfingers anymore is that NOW I don't look at the candy bar section of the checkout line!

The only time candy bars (other than WW bars) make it into my house is that it's the day before Halloween, and on Halloween...THEY ARE GONE!
1. Mars Bars (which they don't make anymore, and don't give me that Snickers Almond are the same thing line.....close but not quite, darn it!)

2. Whatchamacallit

3. Almond Joy (cuz sometimes I feel like a nut!)
When I could eat candy they would be

1- Frozen Milky Way

2- Reeses peanutbutter cups

3- Any Good Dark chocolate.
Not fair, not fair.......I just used all ounces of willpower to bypass a giant chocolate bar sale and now you have me weak kneeded again.

Remembering I'm daughter of a candy man, so my answer is:

1. Belgian chocoates like Callebaut, etc

2. French chocolate like Valrhona

3. Italian chocolate like Vomori and Venchi

But if I come across a Vosges Deominica Noir or Lait, or any of their other bizarre chocolates, I'm in! Still wonder about their Bacon & Chocolate bar..........

If we are talking American mass produced I'm not keen on Dove Bars. Everything else might be fair game: Hershey's with almond or Special Dark, KitKat, who said Chunky??? Haven't had a Pecan Chunky in years! Frozen Reeses Peanutbutter cups, Mounds, Snickers.........really anything.

Really?? What type of candy did he make.
Good friends made the candies. Dad didn't make but sold for manufacturers and importers. My father was a klutz......no way he could be around hot sugar or anything dangerous.

I went to a candy convention when 4 years old...........absolute heaven for a 4 year old!! Going from booth to booth sampling the wares and impressing everyone with my 4 year old candy knowledge....especially with chocolate: "Does it snap? Does it leave a waxy aftertaste? What is the % of cocoa?"

I think they were secretly using me as a guinea pig to sample a "4 year olds taste buds." I absolutely refused to taste ribbon candy having already deemed that unworthy.......which was uncomfortable for my father as he was bidding to be their representative. I caught on quickly and assured the English company I preferred their jelly filled candies. Phew!

We were forbidden to eat any Mars product at home. Dad had been the one to initially spread their products around the Rocky Mountain region and when it became popular, the company took it away from him and sent out their own man. Of course when Dad was away on business trips, Mars and Hershey suddenly appeared in the house along with pizza (Dad hated pizza).

I still get a little teary eyed when I see the chocolate Easter bunnies. Dad absolutely loved selling those to distributors around the region.......he could be quite persuasive about the "little carrots, button eyes, etc." He loved his products.

I on the other hand loved sneaking into the basement and stealing candy bars from his displays. Yeah, I got busted, those darn KitKats.

Butterfinger Bars are my hubby and son's favorite candy bars. Did you happen to notice the Halloween Candy is already arriving in the stores?
Halloween candy? That's not surprising. I already notice CHRISTMAS decorations.
Love this topic-- Although I don't regularly allow myself to indulge--

Nuts in chocolate RULE

This brought up a recent conversation I had with Mom (age 92) re: chocolate covered nuts. I remember her eagerly anticipating her hosting the bridge club because she could buy chocolate covered nuts. After more than 50 years she admitted she only bought them for the nuts! She'd suck the chocolate off just so she could get to the nut 8O When I asked why she didn't buy nuts alone she replied, "The other ladies were so greedy they'd take the nuts by the handful whereas with the chocolate covered nuts, they take one at a time."

Mother's wisdom.
1. Lindt anything

2. Fruit & Nut

3. Crunchie

Anything like crunchie or coffee crisp or twix etc I eat in layers too, even whoppers and maltesers, I eat the chocolate off them first. LOL
Nuts in chocolate...............

LOL Smart Mom!

Wasn't that called 'Bridge Mix'? When my mother had her bridge club over I'd sneak to the table where the snacks were and load up. Skipped the chocolate covered raisins, though - The texture was wrong.
I love chocolate covered nuts, more specifically TURTLES!!! MIL got me hooked on them.

I've never heard of this fruit & nut chocolate bar some of you are nominating ...even after looking it up to see if it triggered something.
It's Cadbury Fruit & Nut.... awesome :)
Cadbury ANYTHING is awesome!

Jo, Walgreen's carries the Cadbury Fruit & Nut in the bigger size. It's usually on the top row in the candy aisle. (this is sad, that I know what row candy bars are in).
From the guys perspective:

1. Chocolate covered Budweiser
2. Chocolate covered Coors
3. Chocolate covered Blue Moon
