HELP! which job shall I go for???

it sounds really silly but I've got a headin from which job should I choose! Stupid, as before when I lived in UK, there werent any and now I've got one interview after the other one (and I'm nearly 50!) and I know for sure that 2 of them I defenitly get. yesterday I had another interview and if the guy decided it's me than I need to know until monday  8O umpfh!

These are the jobs I can go for:

1.) Council - working as a "Meter Maid" outside, come rain, snow or sun!! writing down cars who parked wrongly. working 9/9.30am-3pm but also 3pm-11.30pm. Get all sorts of extra pays but problem is if I would get problems with walking until I reach 65, I get sacked, I will not transfered in the office and: when I finish at 11.30pm I would be at my place at 12am and still got to walk 15min to my flat at this time of the night which makes me scared! Earnings are ok, somewhere in the middle of what I wanted and its a save place to work. Work can be "easy" as nobody tells you what to do, you work on your own, evenings with a guy!

2.) Hairdressers Salon - working as an Assistant of the manager, got to be firm with the people who work there, I never did this kind of thing before. I'm a bit scared as I'm not sure if I could be a "boss" and/or if anyone would really listen to me and I'm also scared I would fail! Lots to learn, I have to sell the hairproducts, write appointments, sort complaints, do twice a week orders etc. working mo,wed, fri, sat 10am-8pm. 40 hrs. in 4 days but 3 days off which I fancy for myself and Charlie. Dont know what I'm earning as big boss on holidays until 15.

3.) American IT Company - working as a Lady who organises conferences, sets rooms, drinks, snacks etc. make appointments for the conferences and clean up everything. do the orders for food etc. get paid exactly what I ask for and some extras. working mo-fri 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm. Sat sun off.

The american company will call monday, if they take me. Then !!!! I've got to know if I go with them or not as I will not find out how much the hairdresser pays until 15! and they wouldnt wait as long! 8O :?

Do I really got a problem here? I also want to find out, because I dont leave Charlie in the hands of my landlord, which job/times would suit me and Charlie best ????????

I change my mind every 5 minutes!! So please help and give me some advise!

Definitely NOT #1. I say #3, as they will pay you what you want, and it can fun to set up meetings, etc. Kind of like a party planner. #2 would be fun also, except for having to deal with complaints and managing people. I was a manager for almost 10 years and while I liked the people who worked for me, I hated having to supervise them.

Being an IT company, #3 might be a little more casual and might even let you bring Charlie to work!
I would go with #3. Sounds like there could be room for growth once you got your foot in the door.

Or if you're really interested in Company #2, I would see if you can explain to to them that you've been given another offer and are down to decision time. Is there anyway that they can tell you what the pay is going to be? They could always make a phone call or at least give you a good range. I would think if they really want to hire you they would be able to do this.

I would hate for you to miss a great opportunity waiting for Company #2 to give you an answer.

Good Luck!

you're right, I hate that too! I might miss out the right job just because I wait for Company No.2, I'm surprised they cant send an e-mail to the main boss and ask how much the pay would be.

So if I hear nothing I go with no. 3!!

Great thoughts, both of you! It's interesting to hear someone else opinion!

Cheers!!! xxxxxx
I would take the IT job, it leaves you with weekends to have fun with Charlie & Max... weekends off are rare!!
I say #3!! It sounds like a nice job and a good company to work for. It would alsways be different depending who and what your setting up for! So you wouldn't get bored and you get to be nice ! Not like job #2
#3 sounds like a winner.........
you are lucky to be able to chose i go for no 3 best for the pups to have u all weekend
