Heart Murmur

My almost 1 year old pup has been sick with kennel cough and taking meds for it. Upon her follow up check up yesterday, Doc said he detects a level 1 heart murmur but not to worry as he claims it is common and can be a result of the drugs and/or her fighting an infection and expects it to be gone once she's better. She goes back for another check in ten days.

Anyone have experience with this? Not worry...right!

Our 9.5 y/o Irish Setter had a heart murmur at 4 - it was indeed transient.

He still runs and plays fetch with the best of them.
My littlest one had exactly the same experience. She was sick with kennel cough that went to severe pneumonia when we rescued her. The vet detected a murmur on her initial exam, but once she was finally well the murmur did not recur. Hang tough! :crossed:
Oh thank you for your responses! I did some research on my own and it is confirmed by what you both said. I am still a bit anxious but relieved.

My little girls is NEVER sick and is just the most perfect little girl. Eats on time, poops perfectly on schedule, is sweet, loving and playful. Her being sick has made me sick!

She goes back for another check this week but I am less nervous now. Thanks again!
