Back Pack / Hip issue

Jasper has some hip issues right now they are nothing serious and I want to keep it that way. I have been thinking about adding a back pack in to some of our walks but was wondering if this could cause or contribute to problems down the road. I really don't want to add weight other than to have him help carry his own water and bowl for longer walks and the poop bag (caribeaner clip on the outside of the pack).

what's wrong with his hips? Six weeks ago I would have said - no problem to the backpack. Since then we have gotten involved in rehab and i have learned some very innocuous things can be good and/or bad for different situations. I think I am just going to put the rehab therapist and her staff on retainer and ask them all my questions from now on :wink:
