I jinxed myself - dogs peeing on themselves

I was so proud Mequpak wasn't one of those male dogs who peed on their front legs while peeing. What the heck were the other oes.org people talking about, and why would a dog do that? :?

If beautiful Yuks feels pee on her leg (let's say she's peeing on the porch where it can't absorb in the soil) ...she tries to stand on her two front legs just to avoid it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, this weekend, every pee pee was done on his front right leg ...every drop of it.

Now that I jinxed myself, I guess I can pray this doesn't become a habit and he gets just as tired as I do of me pouring a bowl of water on his leg, dry shampoo, cornstarch.

Good luck but don't count on it. :( A lot of males just could care less. You'll find it happening more if his coat (leg coat) is longer.
And here I complained about Jack who does his boy squat and then walks through it.........no more complaints from me!
Willy gets pee mostly all down his back legs... he still squats, but then if something gets his attention he'll start walking while he pees

That's Chewie too. Never, ever peed on the front legs, but I wash down his inner thighs to the stifle/hock level A LOT!
Yeah, I think I wouldn't mind a little leg lift. He does it occasionally and the pee just goes where it's suppose to, but then goes back to being gender confused and squatting but not quite getting the aim right. Guess he's proving to me that he's still all male down b/c that's not too different than my boys w/2 legs.
Hmph-- you guys are lucky. Because of Max's injury, his peeing is like a firehose out of control. He squats , walks and lets it go. His pressure is good, but his aim is wacky. We need rain coats and a hat if we are anywhere close. He gets wiped down each and every day. I think I need to by stock in a dog shampoo company. :)
I've found putting a bit of baby powder on the coat on the inner thighs helps the pee not stick and mat it up as much. Plus smells nice LOL
Owen finds a way to pee on all four of his feet (depends on how he's leaning) and he manages to soak his belly coat all the time. He usually smells like a urinal. :( Thank goodness he gets lots of baths.
I haven't tried baby powder but since I have some, I WILL.

I cringe when he does it, but mostly out of my own laziness. I always say to my husband "why can't we just have a normal enjoyable evening w/o all these extra steps?!"
Baby wipes are very useful and I know you have those.

Harry goes through phases but it is always the back of the front legs. We went through a really long spell without it happening but lately it has been hit or miss.

On Saturday he did it when we were leaving the Rally trial and getting ready to get in Val's car. I just whipped out his baby wipes and cleaned him off.
If there is a rabbit around during our walk, and Nelson sees it, he will actually walk and pee at the same time! But he still will not step on wet grass. ???
   It's the curse of having female neat peeing dogs, now it is revenge of the dingle squirt. :P

Syd hits the belly coat and front legs, Johnsons Baby corn starch powder works wonders and smells better then the walking mens urinal. It gets the urine out of the whites on the belly and front legs with just a flick of the brush so not as much washing the walking urinal. 8)

Syd still squats and was told that is better? Better then all dribbling down the inside of the back legs if they start to lift the leg to pee. :? Some train there show boys to stay squatting rather then lifting the leg due to not as messy only the occassional power squirt hitting that belly coat and back of the front legs.

Sheepie girls are way neater :P  Syd well #1 son reckons he needs a urinal cake tied to his belly for when he squirts are like a Fire hose.

Gotta luv the boys, smelly and heaps more equipment underneath to de-knot and mis fire.
Mrs J you are totally kidding yourself that this might stop when he lifts his leg :(

Sorry to break the bad news but it's fact. Even with a high leg lift, the leg sometimes comes down too soon, or the pee gets walked in, or it splashes back onto the fur, or for some reason it just goes in the wrong direction & lands on the fur. Then there's the squat & lift..

Ru goes for walks morning & evening and does all his peeing then, so it's just a case of rinsing him off when we get home. We have a hose outside, a quick rinse around the tummy, inside thighs, feet & back of front legs usually does the trick. It's a good time to do his beard too as he is such a wet mouth. So just twice a day and once you are used to it, you get real quick & fast with a towel.

Of course, as he gets older there will be LESS frequent peeing, I suppose that is something to look forward to.
is this what i am in for lol first time having boys so far so good opps i might have jinx it too

Maybe but the boys have such wonderful other qualities that I can stand having to clean belly coat & the backs of the front legs. :)
Dodger was squatting, and getting most of his pee on his front legs. I thought I was in the clear when he began to lift his leg (at least he wasn't getting all of it on his legs). However, now our bichon boy walks right under Dodger while he is peeing to make sure that he is peeing on the exact spot that Dodger just did. So instead of just having two pee covered legs to worry about, I now have two pee covered legs and one pee covered small dog.
Tiggy stuck her head and my dalmo's butt to check out what was going on when she was around 9 months old.
Problem was he had diarrhoea. So then I had to bath her.
