Racoon Poop

I don't remember who it was but someone asked me what the diagnosis was for my puppy who got sick after eating what we think was racoon poop...And by sick I mean sick enough to spend four days in the hospital...

After 3 stool samples, they all tested negative. However she was still running a fever and they put her on amox and flagly just in case. Within two days the fever was gone and she seems much better. Her own poops are firming up nicely and have turned the nice brown color we poop watchers like to see. My Vet says he really can't say what was wrong except for an infection in the intestines...He did say dogs can pick up round worms I think from racoon poop so she also got a dose of Panacur originally.

So sorry no real answers but nice to know the meds work. Meanwhile I did order the coyote urine and will hope that helps.

That was me (thank you) And I was wondering about the round worms. Raccoons carry a particularly nasty variety. One of my fears for my little oinkers :(

Glad the meds seem to be working.
