Sheepie OCD? :)

I've been having friends over for dinners/BBQ on the back deck during the summer, since it's a great excuse to eat outside. Desmond, my five month old OES, has taken to herding us...while we're already seated at the table!

Desmond's usual routine is to run seven laps around the table/group counter-clockwise, bark once, and reverse to do another seven laps, clockwise. I really want to get a picture of him doing this...with vintage aviator goggles (he's just too cute with his hair flowing behind him - my friend's son said that he looks like Falcor from the Neverending Story :) ).

Are all OES this OCD? 8O

No. Just the great ones

My Mad doesn't herd me, sitting at table or not. But while I'm putting the dogs' dinners together she runs around the nearest table.

Around and around and around...

I don't think she's herding the table. When she gets excited she needs a physical outlet for her excitement

She's almost seven by the way. Lest you think it's a puppy thing.

And, yes, I'm convinced it is a form of OCD.

I agree with Kristine, I think your pup is just wired extra tight and is trying to get you up and moving around so she gets more exercise. Sheepies are not retrievers, but if you can develop a game where she has to expend a lot of exercise, then she may be willing to settle a bit... retrive the ball, frisbee, etc.

Then again she might be putting a spell on the table so someone will drop food to her.
