traveling roadshow hits the road officially Wed. Am early.

Well, the trailer is 3/4 packed.
Had to go order a new key for the Volvo SX90 today as we only had one and i am NOT about to take off with only one key! All Dr. appts for my back are done. (had 48 surgical injections last week in back).

The dogs and cat all have their vet certificates.........
The house is being 'put to bed' at this point. It is a lot of work........
I will miss my house, my yard is so gorgeous this time of year. I have my new hardwood cherry floors finally, and here i go.... off on a new adventure. But it is time. Losing Duncan was just the last straw for me, and Norm not being home again. Looks like he will be in Korea again at least until November. I have told him i just cannot be here alone again this holiday season. Korea was okay but i wasn't a big fan of the food there.......... I like taco's and enchiladas......... :D

SO, that said, we entered Houston, and bought a trailer. 3 dogs and 1 cat and myself head south. And after Sunday we will continue on South........ and south and south!

I have a 5 bedroom Hacienda leased in Mexico. Something we have talked about now for 4 years. My friends are eccstatic that we (me and the dogs and cat) are finally coming. My vets and handlers are calling, and emailing everyday......... HOW much longer until you get here?

The house is gorgeous. Brand new. courtyards, maid & gardner. Unbelieveably for 700 usd a month! Hope we will have the wifi set up. Supposed to be so. It is in a very safe place in Mexico. I basically grew up in and out of Mexico so i am excited about this........ I am up high in the desert moutains, no humidity and the temperature stays about 80 degrees high year around to 40 lows......... It is a wonderful old colonial town around 500 years old, very very clean, almost everyone speaks english (however i want my spanish to come back fluently) and it is a huge american expat community. Top notch vets etc.
I will post house pic's on under pictures.

We are all looking forward to September for Expocan! It is ONE WHOLE MONTH straight of dog shows! Rally, Obedience, agility, conformation, symposiums you name it! Then we have a lot of weekend shows until the end of the year in D.F., which are the FCI shows.........

It is sad to be leaving on one hand but a change i desparately need for me at this time after the sadness of Duncan. Hopefully Norm will be able to come for Christmas... Then, i will decide what to do after the 1st of the year.

Adios!!
Ali

Without telling the exact town, can you give an idea of about where in Mexico you are going?

WHOA! 8O Count me in too...I'd say you've got room for us all! :P 8)
oooooookayyyyyyyy we have 'limped' into Houston. OH MY GOD i don't know WHEN i have EVER been so miserable and HOT in my whole life! Not even in Belize is it like this!!! OMG............ dogs and cat and i made it into the room and closed doors until it cooled off SOME.....
It is like an oven!!

The car has a faulty 'gasoline' switch sensor. I get to 3/4 of a tank and it tells me i am empty and trys to shut down. So i stop every time i am at 1/2 tank gone. Fill it up. Volvo says middle of next week to get parts and fix. i don't have that time.

I met up with my handlers from Mexico and will be leaving here on Monday and following them down to **** here's the name folks***

San Miguel de Allende, in the State of Guanajuato Mexico. It is up high in the desert mountains. Nice COOLER temperatures!! For those old enough to remember Doc Severenson on Johnny Carson Late Night, he and his wife live there, He plays in one of the Cantina downtown almost every night. I am not a 'cantina' person.......... don't really go out at night, but may just go down one night.

time for another COLD shower.............. need to groom dogs out...... but may not get done tonight. i'm tired.
Ali it looks incredible and I hope you have an amazing time! Guanajuato is beautiful. If you are nearby and have a taste for the bizarre, the mummy museum is quite memorable: http://www.mummytombs.com/mummylocator/ ... ajuato.htm

I'm just sad that I didn't get up to your place for the dogs to play together. Henry will be a big boy by the time you are back (if you come back that is. . . )
Yep... :D :D :D NO SNOW!!

You guys come on down....
Like i and you said, not like i wont have any room, lol. I just went on the rental list and said i wanted to rent a house. I had more offers and my pick. I have been very lucky with these owners. They are back in New England with their children and their house back there.

It is a magical old 500 year old colonial town. People come and never leave. I keep telling my friends "this is only for a trial for 6 months" and they are "sure it is. WELCOME HOME" I love my home (not house) in Colorado too much. But this is a nice change of pace... at least until Norm comes home or down there one or the other.
He's such a cutie pie Valerie!!! He can Checkers can play when we come back!

YEARS ago my mom and dad and I were wandering around Mexico City when we met a 'young man' (my mother wanted me to marry him instantly). His family owned the telecomunications company for the COUNTRY of Mexico. (yeah i know i was dumb) David was a very nice person. I always try to look him up when i go to D.F., anyway. His company put the telephone lines into Guanajuato. Due to the midevil tunnels etc, and the Historical community they had to take stones out, number them, then put them back in in the exact order......... so all are (or were) underground and out of site. I've never done the mummy tour but will go do so. Just finished the new Preston Childs book on the way here (book on tape) it's about tunnels and monstors etc. lol, makes me think of Guanaj. and the tour!!!!
So glad you arrived safe at your first stop!!!! Don't forget to let us know how Heart's :hearts: bro and sis do this weekend!!!! Have fun!!!!! :D :D :D
well, what a day!!! Man is Texas ever HOT and HUMID............ MISERABLE!!!

The shows here are HUGE....... I mean HUGE this is the World Series of Dog Shows........ I've never been to Houston and I grew up in Midland.
But this show is h u g e!!!

There were 5 bitches here today......... and TA DA!!!! Calypso a.k.a., Gwynedd Ewe Gotta B'Lize In Something, took Winners Bitch AND Best of Opposite Sex for HER FIRST MAJOR and a 4 point one at that!!! AND WITH ME SHOWING HER!!

I am so proud of the way this little girl has come along!

Poor Mr. Checkers didn't have his normal handler, as he couldn't get from one ring to the other, and my friend from Mexico tried to handle him, but he just doesn't understand showing an OES. (I have to teach thim)

I should have thought of it and put him on Calypso and me on Checkers. Will do this tomorrow if need be. But this trip other than the car is really starting out great!!
