Recipe for pesto question

I've decided to make basil pesto. All recipes I've found call for pine nuts or walnuts. I've only had it with pine nuts. Would walnuts have a different tast?

Also, I hate olive oil. How horrible would it be if I used corn oil?

Walnuts would be fine, toast them to bring out the flavor before putting them in. Will you tolerate the lighter olive oil?? Not the extra virgin, but the more yellow stuff? Actually you can use any oil you want or mix them. Walnut oil and canola might be very yummy. Problem is walnut oil is very expensive and needs to be kept cold.
I used toasted walnuts and canola oil. turned out great!
I use toasted pecans sometimes and yes, you can use any oil you want !
