dinner with Val and Henry

Tonight i drove up Boulder and met Henry II. What an adorable little bundle he is... and Valerie and I had a wonderful visit and dinner. Helped ease a bit of pain.........

Henry II is a sweetiepie. Such a wonderful temperment. Maggie is so funny burrying all the toys out in the yard........ Henry II "flops" in the grass and plants....... just too funny. Hopefully they are going to be able to come up next week and we will have one big playdate with my guys here in my yard.

Always fun to go see puppies. Hope the visit helped.

What is this with Mags burying toys? Is this to keep them away from Henry?
Maggie has always buried her toys, bones, etc. She has little hideaways all over the yard. Actually, Henry buries stuff too. He buried a piece of meat that he wanted to save for later but a neighbor's dog came over and found it. That dog acted like she won the lottery. Henry kept going back to his spot to look for it. Poor guy. You have to look carefully, but throughout the garden are all sorts of extra hidden treasures. It makes me laugh to find them.

In terms of playing, Maggie is distinctly temperamental with Henry. There are times when she will slowly and gently play by teasing him, circling around with different toys, dropping them in front of him, and creating a slow-paced game of chase/keep away. But other times, she does not want to play and she looks distinctly irritated that HE is still HERE and playing with HER toys. I've been making sure she gets plenty of playtime with me and her grown-up buddies and her tolerance for Henry is increasing over time. I think they are going to be great friends.

It was so nice to see Ali and I can't wait to get the dogs together to play.
It is always so nice to visit with our forum friends in person. It sounds like you guys had a nice time and how lucky you were to meet the newest forum family member.
Edy started her pups on raw......did you keep it up with Henry/....thinking about the buried meat.
Yes. I even transitioned Maggie to raw, which she loves. It has been amazing in terms of firming up her poop (which was always slightly soft). It is a little tricky from a sanitation perspective but seems like a really great diet. Plus it is hilarious to see them gnawing at meat and bones like animals.
I suspect Henry will have less need to chew the furniture when the baby teeth start coming out.........maybe.
I love hearing about forum members getting together.....beautiful puppy!
