Nails - Grinding vs. Clipping
I've always been a bit curious about the grinding method. Do you have any opinions on which method you prefer? |

| Definitely grind the nails, especially since he's already accustomed to it. With a nail clipper you still end up with sharp edges that usually have to be filed or worn down on pavement with time.
If you're looking for a nail grinder, don't buy a "PediPaws" or similar tool advertised on TV. You'll be wasting your money. They just don't have the power to grind the nails of an OES. | Definitely grind them down. The dogs don't mind it at all & they end up way smoother & no change of bleeding. |
| I grind - they are still picky about letting me handle their feet - I suspect that will never end with these two, but I keep the grinder accessible and do a few at a time at night. So much easier than clipping. |
| I really like the Peticure attachment that you put on a Dremel.
I've used it for about a year. It covers the sanding drum so it helps some to keep hair away from it and it catches a lot of the nail dust you'd otherwise end up breathing or having to sweep/vacuum up. |
