Doggie Stress or Labor?

So, today's another weird behavior from the dogs. I'm starting to wonder if they are stressed due to the amount of baby stuff coming into the house and lying around. I know it's causing me a lot of anxiety.

Annie is pacing around the house. She's staring at walls, she was shaking, her nose had some whitish stuff on it, not eating (weird). Steve took her to the vet and they didn't find anything wrong with her. She received some fluids and went home.

Maybe she thinks she's the one that's gonig into labor???

lol, I think it would be quite a story if she went into labor! ...but they say dogs can really sense when something big is about to happen and like you said ...combined with an increase of things happening in the house to get ready for that bundle. Too add on to that, the stress may be even worse because of her age? Sorry for all the chaos. With a puppy in the house, I UNDERSTAND. Every time I scream NO (combined with Yuki's barking b/c I did scream), I feel every muscle in my body tighten up and cause a contraction. There are days I tell Mr. J he needs to get home NOW, and by NOW I mean... I don't want to hear any excuses, get in the car. ;) Of course he just tells me he has to work, so I feel like hanging myself those days.
I agree. I think it's probably just stress from all the new stuff, and she can probably sense your stress, both about the impending arrival of the baby and your stress about Annie herself. Is there a way to keep a room or 2 fairly non-babied-out and keep Annie in there or let her have access to it, so there's a 'normal' place that hasn't changed? I know it can't stay that way forever, but maybe she's just having a hard time adjusting.

Or about to have puppies 8O
The chaos will be cleaned out of the lower level this weekend :D

At age 12, three c-sections and a hysterectomy, I don't think there will be any puppies soon!
Did you ever find what the white powder was? Any chance it could have been a toxin to dogs/

Does Annie have a special place she goes when she is nervous? I'd provide her a spot free of clutter and anxious vibes. Poor girl is too old for this "child birthing."
We think the white stuff on her nose may have been due to dehydration as she didn't want to drink. The vet gave her some fluids and she was better and acting more "normal" yesterday and today.

Nope, Annie doesn't have a special place she goes to when she's stressed except wherever her humans are located.
