Is it better to crate puppies together or seperate?

Please help us! We rescued two puppies about a week ago. They are ~7 weeks old and are a mix between a Pit-bull and a Red Hound. They were in rough shape when we first got them but they are recovering quickly. So far we have gated them in the kitchen but they need to be crated. It will help their schedules and training tremendously! We originally thought would crate them together. They are in the kitchen together now with no problems. However, I heard that this might not be a good idea. The vet didn’t say anything to the contrary when we told him; neither did the trainer we spoke with.

Does anyone know what whether or not crating 2 puppies together is alright? I want to be careful here. I can think of some very specific pros and cons myself, but I am NOT an authority. We would like to get them housebroken and trained so that we can leave them out of their crates during the day while we are both at work. I want to do what's best for them. We did not plan on getting two puppies. The first couple of days were a little tough but the four of us are happy. I want it to continue that way which means getting them on a better schedule and helping them to learn control.

They are well behaved, so well behaved I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop . Oh and when we first got them they took to a Rubbermaid tub tipped on its side. They treat the tub as their crate so to ease them in to the crate I was planning on putting the Rubbermaid tote in the kernel for the first couple of days. Does that make sense? Will it help?

we got 2 littermates and crated them together. We had no problems.
I was told that they would bond too heavily and become to dependant on each other. I've never had two puppies at one time, but with any 2 babies/infants/children they need their own time by themselves and with us. For instance, Annabelle listens better on the leash when she’s not with Taylor. So my thought was that it would come down to giving them attention both as a group and one on one.

Recently we have had some fights. At first it didn’t worry me. I figured sibling rivalry is normal and they will determine their "order" over time. However, in the past two days they've been bad enough there have been injuries. Is this something that I have to worry about? I know they are more rugged than they look but they are just babies and sometimes it continues beyond the pain cry. I can’t tell how far it would go if left on their own because we are always there to intercede right now. They don’t hold a grudge, the wounded lets the offender come right over and play nurse. Is this something I should worry about? Does it sound out of the ordinary for 7weeks?

Is there anything else to consider when crating two together? (Both will be fixed as soon as they will let us)

Thank you for your help! We really appreciate it!!! N&J
I would crate them separately. I'm not saying they can't ever be together, just that they need to learn to go in a crate alone too. And, just because they are siblings, doesn't mean they will like sharing the crate. Some really appreciate their own space.

Really? I would say crating two togetehr will cause many problems - even if you don't realize it. I always crated mine seperately and would have never thought to crate them together.
Our trainer give this advice 5 years ago when we purchased 2 littermates-

Crate them separately.
Feed them in their own individual bowls.
(We still scatter kibble on the floor on occasion so they don't get possessive over food)
Train them separately,
Take them places separately so they won't bond too closely.
Swap dogs between people in the home so they grow to respect all people who will be handling them.
