Westminster Dog Show

Don't forget to watch the Westminster Dog show - Monday, February 14th and Tuesday the 15th on the USA Network.

http://www.westminsterkennelclub.org/

You can also link to some Video Clips of the judging of breeds - the OES is in the ring Tuesday @ 1:45PM.

Good Luck to everyone who's participating!

Aack!!! What time is it on at? Maybe Meg Ryan will have to wait... Is herding group on tonight- anyone know?

Karen :)
Herding group is Tuesday night! The time schedule's posted on the website. They are replaying them too!
Looks like I'll miss this one too since I never get the channels they put dog shows on :( Canadian TV aggravates me. LOL
I love this time of year....I always walk through the hotel Pennsylvania to see the poopies! They are always so friendly!
Kristen,
Thank you so much for the reminder on the Westminister Dog Show !
We love to watch the herding group, of course especially OES.

Its fun to learn the description/history of the breeds,
especially breeds you have heard about but have
not seen...
Here's a link to all the OES entered:

and here is the page for the video....they are FUN to watch! Next best thing to being there! (slight exaggeration!)

It seems to be taking a couple of hours for the video to appear after the judging...The OES will be tomorrow at 12:45
Happy Valentine's Day!
Cathy
Howdy - if anybody will be physically be there tomorrow please drop me an email through the forum and maybe we can meet. I will be attending with a friend and my accountant will be showing her 2 year old Irish Setter "Ch Ramblin' Red Tax & Spend " (Spencer) which unfortunately conflicts with the OES ring time... :(

I wonder if Lambluv's Desdemona will take best in group again?

Anyhow this will be my first time checking out the show. I will take lots of pix. :D
I took a look and I will be able to watch it tomorrow night at 7pm! Yay!!!! :)
I love the Black Russian Terrier! I also appreciate the "descriptions" and how they indicate NOT FOR A FIRST TIME DOG OWNER! They seem very realistic and honest in their descriptions.

Also - just heard Lester Holt mention he has an OES!
:D
I love the cute little Norfolk Terrier. Frank's breeder also breeds them and now I'm hooked on them. She has a long waiting list for them. They have litters of only 1 or 2 puppies and it's a really tight community.
Love the Bedlington Terrier.
With that little lamb look, would look cute in our pasture along
with our sheepie !
Lester Holt showed his dog on the Today show just recently. I missed most of it though trying to get everyone ready for the day :( .
I just had a chance to watch the online video of the OES judging. I can honestly say I don't know which end of the the sheepie is cuter, the big nose or the big butt! LOL Quite the impressive group, that's for sure!
LOL! I was watching it with a friend and she kept saying "they have the CUTEST BUMS!!!" So there's one vote for that end! : )
Ditto to the above post about the announcers tempering their comments with other comments about the various challenges presented by some of the breeds.

I am thrilled to see Westminster getting more and more popular, becoming an actual sporting event for the masses (we were glued to the set, unlike during the Superbowl) But I think it is only responsible for the announcers to discuss the 'real world' regarding some of the breeds. It's one thing to say "aw look how cute" and quite another to actually own some of those high maintenence animals. (something none of us would know anything about  )

But gee- weren't they all fantastic? I've picked several terriers and a couple of hounds that are on my short list!

Up.
Darn it! I saw the first one but not the second group! I really wanted to see the hounds and herding... stupid school! I missed it! And I promised myself I would see the second one too.
Go onto the Westminster site and watch the videos....not exactly the same, but you'll be able to see them! : )
