Ronco Rotiessier (Rotisserie) thingie

Does anyone own one? I've always been curious. One of my members has it and loves it. What's been your experience.

WOW! My member was raving about hers too! I'll give you a call over the weekend, so we can chat about it! Thanks! (I told my member, I had appliance envy  )
I have one too. Roasts and chickens are great in this.

Well if you have appliance envy, I'm sure just visiting OES Mommy would cure that. Outside of an ice cream maker, I think she has everything!! ;)
lol mrs j. you are right!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but the thing is I USE THEM
my kitchen is my world!!
I recently got rid of the "duds"
not many. some are good just not for me lol
Hmmm...now you have me thinking!
next purchase is the nuwave with extender ring in black and stainless.
I found it at at bbb at a 20% discount along with ice cream maker.

about 12 yrs ago I had a flavorwave onen. i broke it but it was great.
We borrowed a friends rotisserie to make a leg of lamb - it was the best! :D

OM, it makes me hungry just thinking about it!
Last Christmas Eve family dinner, my daughter brought her's over and we made Prime Rib...honestly, the best I have tasted!!!
Joan and I have wanted one for years and last year (maybe 2 years ago!) we got one for a couple we know who had it on their gift registry.

They LOVE it and let us know every once in a while.

We always thought it would be perfect for the motorhome, but when we looked at them -- too many rattley parts. Everything would have to be packed away in paper towels each time to keep it from rattling going down the road.

I can't stand rattles! :roses:
Ron there are only 2 parts that move if useing just for whole chickens or roasts. The greece pan and the bar that sits in the middle. Yes there are other parts if you buy them and yes I have them but never used them.

Get one!

My only conplaint it you cannot controll temp.

thats why I am looking into the nuwave

HOW funny. I swear I saw an infomercial last night while taking the dogs out, and said to myself I should ask if you have a nuwave. I don't have room for a bunch of kitchen appliances. Plus, it seems like a lot of them do the same thing.
I have the nuwave and it is AWESOME! We can cook anything in a fraction of the time and always have a juicy inside and a crisp outside.

Roast in a Nuwave is to die for

If I recall when we were looking at it, the door design was a problem for a motorhome. If I recall it was very large and made of glass and not attached to the body of the oven at the top, so the door would need to be stored in the underneath position while the motorhome was moving, and in that position it was free to rattle around. That's in addition to the rack(s) and pan(s) and so forth.

But it's just a memory from a few years ago.

My mother had a Faberware (I think) open rotisserie and the quality of food that came off of that spit was unreal. I have very fond memories of smelling that turkey ALL DAY and being teased ALL DAY while it was cooking... and it was SOOOO good!

Unfortunately they don't make this device any more, perhaps its design is too dangerous for today's modern society, but this thing could cook a seriously large bird or roast. I seemingly could watch for hours as the drippings went round and round and round as the meat was turning on the spit.

I found a little review with a couple of pictures here:
http://reviews.ebay.com/The-Fabulous-Fa ... 0001069077

I *think* my dad might still have this unit somewhere in his condo. I know that the cord with a very unique Bakelite-like plug had become frayed and brittle and was deemed to be too unsafe to use anymore, but I wonder if that could be replaced now.

I think I'll give him a call and ask. ;)
thanks for the review on nuwave.!! I hope to go to the store and order it this weekend.
Ron, you are right. the glass door does rattle. never even thought of it.
I would think a pc of tape holding it closed would do the trick.

and I also had the other fiberware one that I got in a garage sale. yumo
but all the heat goes into the room. not good
I also sold it in a garage sale for more than I paid! oh well that was 7 years ago.
