How was your weekend?

It seems very quiet in here lately, so I thought I'd start something up.

We had a good weekend. I completed a ton of little (nasty) tasks at home, that I had been putting off. I'm finally out of vacation mode, thank goodness!

We meet a new neighbor and her son yesterday, while we were working in the yard. Pirate was with us, and the neighbor fell immediately in love with him. (He's such a good boy). But my Pirate is a conman. As we were all sitting on the lawn, he backed up into her so she HAD to rub his tush. Man, is he smooth! We never saw it coming. Anyways, she loved it, and so did Pirate.

I had a food binge weekend. I think we all need that once in awhile. Today, back on track!

So? How was your weekend?

I always accuse my sheepies of "giving me their best side."

A couple of my Pyrs have been nose divers.......greet people by ramming their head between the guests' legs for a neck and shoulder rub.

My guys are so uncouth
^^
Mequpak greets his guests by smelling their butt real quick. A deep dive in to smell too  Thankfully once he's done it once, he won't try again.

Mr J did a practice drive for me (otherwise i'd have no idea) to lil J's new neurologist, we ate there, looked for stones to put in our front yard and was unsuccessful, shopping, and rented 2 movies. Slumdog millionaire which we ended up not watching and then little mermaid ...and lil J was extremely frightened by Ursela and begged me to turn it off. I tried telling my husband it would be too much for him since he's never seen any violence let alone a pretend sword, but I guess he had to see firsthand
cleaned, did laundry, brushed panda, grocery shopped, cooked scallops...and watched season two of weeds...
Saturday was Agility I $ II, so did that early in the morning. Bought balloons and cake for Aaron's Birthday and surprised him by dropping them off with him at work....so he could share the cake. Took Asia and her furry sisters to Brusters for their doggy ice cream sundae to celebate her Birthday. Went out to eat at Chilli's with Aaron and his friends to celebrate his Birthday.
Sunday we took a nice ride with the girls out to Sebatian Inlet Area. We enjoyed checking out the ocean and all. Alot of people out fishing. Now we have a new place to take the girls. As we crossed the bridge the water was so crystal clean. We also found a beautiful island called Orchad Island. Beautiful day.
We almost had a complete non working weekend for a change.

Beautiful weather in NJ - 70 degrees & sunny

Saturday - went to Atlantic City to see Wanda Sykes perform her comedy show. Had dinner dockside in Absecon. Won $40 playing craps.

Sunday - went to Philly for this outdoor lowbrow arts & craft show. Had lunch at our favorite little mexican place.
It was a GREAT weekend! Steve and I had our last hoorah before baby. We literally went to the next town over (Wheeling), had dinner at Cooper's Hawk, stayed at the Westin, watched Yes-man, had some fun, and went out to breakfast in the morning.

Mom stayed over with the pups who were supposdly very good  Only Grandma...

On Sunday, we took Foz to the Lake Forest doggie park. Then I took a nap. It was what I'd call a perfect weekend!

Stacy, what is your due date? And which hospital are you having the baby at?
I made a resolution to get out of the house this weekend, but wound up not. Joan and I did get out of the house on Friday though, and went to a car dealership.

Unfortunately the family car/convertible for Ron combination vehicle is not practical for either use; The back seat is all but inaccessible for Joan's business purposes (and for Mulligan) and the head room is insufficient for my bean.

So I am yet again depressed, looking for a convertible with a minimum of 39" headroom. Our Impala has 39.4" and is acceptable, the Pontiac G6 Convertible has 38.4 and my hair is touching the roof all the time (annoying) and leaves no room to avoid hitting my head on the smallest of bumps in the road.

I'll start a new thread looking for suggestions.

Ohhh, how nice and exciting for you guys.
BTW, I didn't think Wheeling had anything interesting ;)

Wheeling has some very exception restaurants! You should come and visit and eat!
hummmmm I had to go back to ER. my arm started to swell and turn even more black and blue, even the palm now is b&b but all was ok. more pain meds. so we stayed home during the big rain storms. very high winds too. watched tv.
Rode Bob, went to dinner with my friends, visited with my mom, went to the laundrymat to wash my winter comforter, gained 4 pounds according to Weight Watchers. You know, the usual
We had a project filled week-end. The weather was perfect, so that made it more bearable.

When we had our back flower beds put in about 10 years ago, the landscaper talked us into using small red stone instead of wood mulch. It actually has worked well, but we hadn't replenished it since installation, so that was our week-end project. We had 4 ton of stone delivered last week. Dale would load up the tractor cart and dump it in the beds, where I would take over and distribute it. Only first I had to trim a boatload of plants back and clean out under them before I could spread the stone. Needless to say, I'm a tad bit stiff today!

Our first project was to remulch the front beds. Then redid the stone, and now the next project is restaining the deck. Sometimes I think this "retirement" is not all it's cracked up to be! Haven't relaxed yet!
Friday and Saturday did wedding stuff in the suburbs and hung out with Wally.

Sunday my dog rescue participated in a huge adoption event in downtown chicago. There were about 30 rescues/shelters there, and it was a great day.
Saturday I relaxed at home while Greg worked. I spent all day dreaming of us both having weekends off work and living near the beach.

Sunday Greg took Ru running in the morning then we went to a breakdance competition until 9PM. I judged and Greg was the DJ. It was fun but very tiring.

I'll tag on yesterday too as I spent 7 hours grooming Ru. My hand hurts. I trimmed his body hair but you can't tell, and spent ages thinning his chest which now looks really choppy and horrible with weird bits sticking out. And I cut his beard too short, somehow he looks like Michael Jackson
Saturday I cleaned the corner of the playroom/computer room that has been annoying me. It was way too cluttered and creeping out into the room. Then I vacuumed and shampooed the carpet. Did a few other things too, including getting groceries.

Sunday I went to a nearby town with my friend Mary and bought plants for my flower pots/beds and veggies. Then I spent most of the rest of the day planting them. Went for a 3 mile walk with Chewie and Otis, and Nicole (my almost DIL) and her min pin Wayla.

Nice weekend - it was in the 70's and sunny. :D

And I had yesterday off too. I priced things for the family garage sale next weekend, and dropped it off at Travis and Nicole's. Then Nicole and I went for a 6 mile walk! They live right next to a trail - very beautiful and wooded. Chewie and Otis walked again, and min pin Dino got to come with too. Then I got the oil changed, went to the bank, picked up Todd's new glasses and other errands. Home for an hour, then into town again to teach classes. Riley got to come with, Chewie was pooped out! For the int/adv class we played the recall relay game - way too funny! Darby the Wheaton who was just 1 year old was crazy, and ran over to play with the other dogs.......
