Our Silver Wedding Anniversary

Today my hubby, Chuck, and I are celebrating our Silver (25) Wedding Anniversary. I can't believe how time has flown. Both of us had been married before and so we have a blended family..yours mine and ours. He had three, I had two and we had one. Our children where all the same age and they really liked each other so blending the family worked out for us. Aaron, our youngest, who was nine years younger then the others was the baby brother. (for those who saw the birthday blog for Aaron and Asia, Aaron was born two days before our first Anniversary..for those who are counting lol)

Our family was blended a little different then some, my two children and one of Chuck's sons and then of course Aaron lived with us. We raised them with a great sense of humor. Our favorite saying was "it is us against them." So we had to stick together. We are very proud of our children...we consider ourselves blessed.

Chuck and I met at a 50/60's dance on Oct 1,'83. We where with a huge group of friends. Chuck, his brother and I where the only "single" people there, not much of a choice and I almost didn't go. I called my sis to tell her I decided not to go so she talked me into it,30 mnts before I had to be at her house. We had a lot of fun dancing and it was a nice party. Moose and Da Sharks was the band playing. At the end of the evening Chuck asked for my phn number. We said our good byes and I didn't hear from him for a while. At the time I didn't care either way if he called. I later heard he lost my phn number 3 times.. Anyway, we finally went out on a date and married 8 mts later.

What would I say that has made our marriage so wonderful...we both have a great sense of humor so we laugh alot. You know what they say, you can either laugh or cry so we choose to laugh. We, of course, love each other and respect each other. I can still hardly wait until I see him each day and when he calls me on the phn. (my number is in his "favs" so no losing it). I feel we where truely blessed to have found each other. We've not had a perfect life but one thing we could both count on is the other one would be there with support and comfort. for the other. We've had an interesting one though. My Mother used to tell me I should write a book....

Now on to our Golden!

We had our 25th last August - and we were ones that beat the odds too. Met, dated, married in less than a year, preemie twins born less than a year as well. Definitely the "we against them" at times as well....

Congrats Jean! I only hope we are as lucky as you!!!

Thank you everyone for the greetings...both Chuck and I do appreciate them.

One other little item I wanted to mention about our Wedding day. We eloped since we had both been married before and because of my parents' religious convictions they would not be able to attend the wedding. We where married in a Judge's office. I was so nervous, the reason hence having been previously married and divorced, that when it was my turn to say our vows I started laughing and could not stop. I laughted right through our vows. The Judge told Chuck she hoped I kept laughing through our marriage...and I have.

My parents did love Chuck as their own son and he felt the same for them. We held no grief about the religious thing and Chuck was there to say good bye when my Mom went to Heaven. He did alot of work on my Dad's house after that, which kept my Dad company until he also joined my Mom. Chuck since has been baptised in my faith and is even a 3rd Degree Knight, soon to be 4th Degree. We've also had our marriage blessed in our religion. All of this after the passing of my parents. Chuck's conversion was inspired by my Mother....
Congrats! Wishing you and Chuck 25 more :)
AAWWWW Wonderfull congratulations on 25 years :ghug:
