News Flash! Truman saves Riley!

Truman is my hero! Today, Riley (our kitty) sneaked out the front door when one of our dinner guests arrived. Later, we heard dogs barking furiously and when I went to the door to investigate, saw that 2 dogs had Riley trapped in the wheel well of one of the cars in our driveway. I rushed out to try to run them off and Truman pushed past me and tore over there and flew into action. He ran those two dogs off like a freight train at rush hour! He chased one several houses up the street and the other between our house and the neighbors and across the creek! Riley, who is the sweetest little kitty guy, was freaked out! He was making a weird yowling sound and I couldn't get him out from under the car. I was scared to death he was injured because I saw blood on his nose. It turned out to be one of my friend's blood as she tried to get Riley out from under the car and he BIT HER! I'm sure it was because he was terrified because he is really very loving and mellow. Anyway, he turned out to be ok but quite frightened and dirty from being inside the wheel well. After it was all over, I bawled like a baby (my usual reaction post-crisis!). Truman really saved his kitty pal! The only downside is that Truman had a bath last night and had to have another one today as he got muddy chasing that *&%#$@ dog through the creek. Truman was rewarded for his bravery by getting lots of treats and hugs and Riley got to do whatever he wanted which was lay on the buffet while we ate dinner!

I'll glad everyone was okay and just goes to show you like siblings, they may not always get along but will protect each other if need be.

I have that same reaction, I keep it together during the crisis by a thread, and come unraveled afterwards.
The sheepies are cheering for Truman and the kitties are cheering for Riley!

Yeah Truman!!! Way to go saving the kitty! What a horrible thing to go through though! How scary! Well- at least now you know he really loves the Riley- even if he'd never admit to it otherwise!

aww...that made me teary eyed. WTG Truman - what a good doggie you are. I hope he enjoyed his treats.
