We have a herding lesson on Saturday

:excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited:

Val and I are taking Harry and Heart out for a herding lesson on Saturday. This will their first time with some sheep since Nationals. I tried to lay the groundwork with the instructor before hand so that she doesn't ask me to leave within 5 minutes of getting there. Although she seemed to have a good understanding of the sheepdog drive in our conversations she still hasn't met Mr. Lack of Impulse Control aka Harry.

I just hope that my emotions don't go from this :excited: to

by the time our lesson is finished.

Yes. Enquiring minds want to know. Especially since enquiring bodies worked in the yard all weekend and can no longer move (ouch!) so need to live vicariously through you guys. My dogs decided they were orphans. We did no training whatsoever. Oh, well.

Yes, me too!

After a day full of planting and weeding (with not a big dent in it d/t my neglect all spring  ) I am checking in for the herding report as well!
:(

We got rained out.
Even thought there was no rain in the forecast for Saturday.

She did not want to work with her ground wet because it would leave his footing a little unsure and she felt that starting him out he needed to build his confidence.

I have enough problems with everything else he participates in so I prefer to start herding off on a good foundation if possible. I don't know how far we will go with it but just in case I want a good start.

I had agility today and tomorrow I am spending the day with my mom for her birthday. That leaves Tuesday and it is supposed to rain again.
I am sorry. I know you all were really lookign forward to it...I will keep my fingers crossed for Tuesday. :)
:(
Crossing paws for a dry Thursday!
Bummer, but it was a valid point she made (good 1st time, solid foundation, all that important stuff....) sad for now, but should pay off later.

We are getting rain now, but much needed, so I can't complain.

Hope you get a better shot at it this week - we already know they loved it at the Nationals last fall! :D
