Sheepie Palooza Performance events

I ama starting this thread to try to encourage someone who has the actual results from this weekend's fun wevent sto make soem sort of an announcement - particularlly how many dogs participated in the subnovice events and will be joining their older frinds in either agility or rally events at trials across the country in the near future.

And believe me - some of the reults are surprising andd should be encouraging to anyone who has ever thought of participating.

Since Judi is the performance chair, these numbers will be posted as soon as Judi can get to it. We are all overwhelmed with post sheepiepalooza and your patience is appreciated.
I truly understand that i would have headed to a spa as the last car left
Me too, Kerry! After all the work they put into this event, I would be taking this week off and spending it vegging out on my sofa and fitting in a few spa days.
Sorry guys - I forgot stats at home.

I am trying to resolve some other clean up for Sheepiepalooza today and don't quite have it together. Let's just hope that my co-workers don't notice that I haven't done one bit of "work" today.

I have a few things to say about performance but they are not the results and brags so to speak yet. I will post those under Advance Training.

Thanks again for your participation - I was really impressed with the things I saw at every level this weekend.

I am still thrilled that I actually got a front cross in while running Hurricane Harrington.

I'll add my little bit of shock. I had both Tonks and Luna in pre-Novice Obedience. I was going to pull Tonks out, but Judi talked me out of it. She's just not great about heeling. So when they said "First place goes to Tonks!" my response was "What?!? Tonks?!?REALLY?". Which I guess is not your standard reply in such situations.

But I'm so proud of both my girls!!! Luna accidentally did some of the Novice requirements instead of Pre-Novice in Obedience. She was the first dog in the group, and we didn't know that it was just supposed to be leashed. So Luna did all her heeling work on leash, and then repeated it off-leash, and to my eye did GREAT! At the end of it all, Luna wasn't able to do a stand for inspections; she'd stand and then lay right back down. Might have been the heat, but I'll admit its never been her strong point. So she came home with a third place ribbon, and I'm just so proud of my sweet girl!

And Tonks OWNED that Agility course! Her time was great, and she really only flubbed the weaves, which in her excitement she raced right past. We don't use guide wires, so even though we did a walk through with them, she might have not recognized the weaves when we got to them. But when she realized her mistake, she ran back, and to make up for it, Jumped over the guide wires. She took second place in her class, and I'm so thrilled for her! In fact, I'm going tomorrow to enroll both girls at a new Agility school. So look out world; my monster pups are on their way up!!!!
Allison.

Aw! Thanks!!! No matter how much training I do, they will never have 1/10 of the beauty your Heart possesses. She is SUCH a gorgeous and sweet girl; and she's coming along quite nicely in the ring herself!!! :hearts:
I really enjoyed watching all of them in the agility ring. Gosh it's so encouraging to see them enjoying it so much. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to see if Genny would have an apptitude for it and if she liked it at all. I was very pleased that she seemed to do both. I guess I'll be contacting the trainer about those private lessons this summer so we can be ready for the foundation class in the fall.

Beau & I had fun doing Rally O, too. It was a great way to experience our first ever Fun Match. I can't imagine a more positive experience for either one of us!

Thanks for providing a positive atmosphere and friendly venue to test the waters!! :cheer:
