Arthur is home
 We adopted Arthur this morning without a hitch. His foster mom and dad are wonderful. He has the most beautiful blue eyes!
Arthur is energetic, friendly and upbeat. He has so much personality! Following the OES advice, we introduced the two dogs on neutral ground, and if it was perfect. They were excited to see one another, and Duncan started wiggling and carrying on as if he had been given the biggest bone! We walked home together, and it has been as smooth as silk. The boys have been very interested in each other. It was funny when Arthur started to play with Duncan's squeaky toys because Arthur was making them squeak (something Duncan couldn't figure out how to do) and before too long we had dueling squeakers! Arthur also used the backyard to go the restroom, and Duncan walked right over and did the same thing. It was great! Arthur is still significantly underweight. According to his foster mom and dad, Arthur weighs about 68 pounds now and had GAINED 18 from when they started fostering him. His fur feels very thin and when I rub my hands down his spine, I can feel his spinal column and his ribs. He is about 26 inches at the shoulder, and we all agree that he has at least another 20 pounds to gain. It has been a GREAT day! BTW, his picture is still up at the TXOES rescue under the name of Archie. And, I have uploaded some pictures of him on his first day home in my album. |
