I don't wanna whine, but whine whine whine anyway

I am feeling so sad right now.

Last December, I bought a package of RedSox tickets, 4 seats to each of 4 games. I split up the package with my brother, each of us getting 2 games. I've posted about how the seats were less than great, but I was looking forward to the games anyway, it's been a few years (about 10, I'd guess) since I've been to a RedSox game.

The package we got were a bunch of Friday night games, and one of the reasons was that I wanted to see the Mets play the Sox at Fenway. That game is this coming Friday night.

Unfortunately I've been kind of sick recently with lots of side issues, and I had to ask Joan to find someone else to go with her, and so now my wife, my 11 year-old nephew, a close friend and his 12 year old son are going to the game.

On a positive note, I seem to be getting well and I'm happy they're going, but I'm feeling sorry for myself and I'm having a little pity party over here. Stupid @#U$&@%(@()@ gout

 WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

I can understand how you feel, hope you get better soon
Bummer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd be sad too. You had to be pretty sick not to go :(

So what does this mean for you now? Pizza night?

Glad you're feeling better. What would we do if our leader was down?
After waiting sooooo long and to have this happen.....it's not like gout goes away in a day or two.......you know you won't be able to go way ahead. BUMMER!! Well, your nephew is going to have a great time, relish in his joy.........after some more pity party.
POor Ron! At least the seats weren't as great as you had hoped...
I'm sorry you've had to miss your games...coming from a family of sports nuts. I hope you are feeling better soon!
So sorry you are not well. Hope you get to go to 1 game.
Get well soon :)
Bummer! I'm going to a white sox game tonight and I will eat some nachos for you
I hope you feel better :)
Sorry to hear you have been sick.

Take care and I hope you are back to full health soon.

I'd be miffed to miss something I'd been looking forward to as well.
Well that totally BITES!! How disappointing.
Sorry you are not feeling well--take care and hope you continue to do better.

Those tickets are a big deal. My son is a huge Red Sox fan so a year ago Dec. I went online to buy tickets for him for Christmas. I was online waiting for about 3 hours and finally was picked for tickets. Bought 4 for the following Sept.

The seats weren't great but it was a GREAT experience--even I loved it and I am not a huge fan of watching baseball!

Hope your nephew makes some memories thanks to Uncle Ron!

:P
Hope you feel better soon
:ghug: :ghug: :ghug: :ghug: :ghug:

Sheesh, I'm so sorry you are not well :(

Rufus sends lots of sheepie kisses (extra slobbery) and a poke in the eye with his big nose.

Hope you feel better soon :cow:
Ahhhhh, that pretty much bites! ...about missing the game. :(

But, good news that you are feeling better :D :D

My dad had gout along with other health issues. When the gout was acting up, he was SO miserable!!! Put everything else in the shade.... :(
Hope you're feeling better soon
Thanks for joining my self-pity party. Sigh.

I think I need a convertible.
Oh that Sucks, Ron!!!

I'm a big baseball watcher so I'd be terribly cranky all weekend long knowing I missed it.

My husband, however, would rather see a NASCAR race than a baseball game anyday. 8O

A convertible sounds like the most perfect pick-me-up. But you will have to clear it thru Joan first.
Don't feel too badly Ron, maybe the Mets will end up beating the Sox on home turf, which would make everyone miserable.

Took my dad to the Phillies game last week, and the Dodgers creamed them. Definitely not as much fun watching the game when nobody is hitting! The whole stadium emptied out by the 7th inning.

Anyhow, hope that you are feeling better soon and can enjoy the rest of your ticket package. :D
Ya know, missing this Johan Santana and Daisuke Matsuzaka matchup is even worse....ahhh well.....

Heather, sorry about the White Sox game. Owwww. :(
I didn't go yesterday thank god, I went Wednesday. They won AND it was "dog day" at the park!

Unfortunately I got hit by a car riding my bike home... but you can't win em all?
8O Well, we know you're alive.... are you otherwise OK?

WHAT?! 8O
Come on now Ron, no big deal, it's the Mets, it's not like they are any good anyway. Too bad the WORLD CHAMPION PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES aren't coming to Beantown this season, now that would be a tragedy to miss out on one of those games.

I'm ok! My whole left side is bruised and my front wheel is dead, but I'm ok.
:ghug: I'm sorry you're sore, but glad you're not majorly hurt. :ghug:

I hope your recent training is not needed for you to recover all of your damages....

I like that you sound more upset about the game than getting hit. It's not funny that you were hit but I admit I laughed out loud that it came in second!

I also hope that you get well soon, Ron, and get to use your tickets and also that you do not get hit by a car.
LOL I'll do my best to avoid pedestrian v car confrontations!
I wish I had seen this post before today! We went down to Boston for the same game! As you know, they lost, and the only high point was Varitek playing well. Our tickets were AWFUL, infield grandstand 2nd row from the top! They were my Christmas present from Nathan. He paid way too much on stubhub. So now our wedding vows will include, I promise to check with my wife before purchasing Sox tickets  . I bought a sox pax package in 2003, they weren't the best seats (RF loge), almost obstructed by Peskey Pole, but it was nice to see that many games.

Here are the seats for which my brother and I paid so much money.

Pictures of Fenway Park Section 22

Same area or similar view??
Ron,
I could have met Joan! We were in section 27, just a little further down.

The only plus, we were steps away from the restroom

If that really is a plus at all.
Didn't think there was a reason to start a new thread, so I'm using yours to say lil J gets to go to his first game tonight! I told Mr. J he wouldn't be interested  ...heck, mr. j isn't even interested, but today I get a phone call telling me I'm crazy ...that's he's always been a baseball fan. Reallly? We've been married how long and I've heard you say the opposite for how long? ...but he's too excited to take him even though tomorrow is a school day (last day though!), so my two baseball fans will be out late tonight. 8)
