Please welcome Henry

As of today, Miss Maggie has a little brother. He is a beautiful 9 week old pup -- a cousin to Jill's Owen. (Thanks Jill and Marilyn for keeping my secret!) After a morning of playing and exploring in the backyard, he fell fast asleep under an Adirondak chair. Maggie had just come back from her wild romping playdate with her best buds and since she was happy and tired (and such a sweet dog) she took it all in stride. My boyfriend's baby was very entertained by watching them zoom around.

Very cute!!!
He makes Maggie look like a super model with super long legs.
So much in that post that made me say WOW!!!!!!!!!

1. I can't believe you have one already!!!!! What a cutie and I love the name. I love when dogs are given names like that. As I said in pm, though I envy you have a cute puppy (size) ...good grief, I wouldn't want to go through the puppy thing again. :)

2. Uh... I hate you for cutting off bf's head. Pffft ...but at least you were kind enough to tell us that's who was in the pic.

3. His little one is way too cute. 8)

Can't wait to see their adventures!!
Wow, he's so cute! Love him! Can't wait to hear more. (And SEE more...pictures pictures pictures)
Yay! Henry's home! I was thinking about him this morning and wondering how his trip went. Now that the secret's out, here's a couple of cute pics from when he came over for a bath before his trip.

Owen's all, "Hey, I'll show you who's boss, puppy!"

Image

Hey, where are you going?

Image

And, of course, Clyde loves puppies. Owen used to like to ride on his back when he was that size so I figured Henry would, too. Ignore how scary I looked. I had spent 4 hours shopping with my sister in the morning and then came home to bathe all my dogs, my mom's OES and then Henry. I was a little spent!

You even got to see Henry before Valerie?! That is very cool. He is adorable. Love the picture of fluffy Owen a nd him.
Henry and Owen are cuties but Henry looks like he's not sure about being up there
What a sweetheart :hearts:
Oh how cute is Henry!!! What a nice suprise! Does Maggie try to "Mother" him??? I can't wait to hear more about the adventures of Henry, Maggie, Val and BF....
He's just TOO cute for words!! Congratulations!!

Your BF's baby is adorable, too! How old is he?

Yup! Me and Henry go way back. He's been at my breeder's since he was born so I got to watch him grow up when I went over there. He's a super sweet puppy. It just happened to work out that my breeder had a puppy and Val had spoken with her years before and liked her and her dogs so it all came together now. (I only add that so everyone knows I wasn't pushing puppies, lol!).
OMG, VAL! I'm so excited for you! How fun! He has an absolutely adorable little face. I can't wait to see him grow up and hear all the silly stories.
Adorable :) Congrats! :)

Nice save  what's his ancestry - he doesn't look alot like Owen, or is it the white head?
Congratulations Val and BF he is just so adorable and love his little diamond shaped eye patch real cheeky looking.

Is Miss Maggie clucky with him?

So happy for you all and when he is older those two are going to have some great adventures together, playing hiking and being great company for each other.

Give that cutie a big squeeze from us and maggie a belly rub for her new status in the house as Big SIS.
Oh my word, he is just too cute! I love that little swatch of black on his otherwise white head. What a doll! I like the name, Henry, too. It suits him and works well with Maggie.

She is such a good natured girl, I'm sure she will love having an active playmate.

Have fun with all the puppy stuff.

Your boyfriend's baby is precious!
Yipee!! :yay: Mags and Val are back into the wild and crazy puppy times again.

Henry is adorable, just a fluffy bundle of love. Congratulations.

Facebook. It is not just for students anymore. I love it. I only posted one picture there figuring you guys would care to see more than most of my friends.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and well wishes. Maggie is actually playing it cool with the little guy -- not really interacting with him. I hope she warms up to him. I've signed her up for beginner agility lessons to reinforce our bond during this phase. She's been to two classes and she loves it! No surprise there I guess but I just love seeing her grinning at me the whole class.

Henry has been wonderful greeting people and other dogs. He had so much fun playing with my friends fiesty little terrier. He could not keep up and was completely wiped out afterwards. He growled at a couple of things yesterday, which surprised me, but I am going to chalk it up to being a rough day. He was completely quiet in his crate last night - hooray! It was in the bedroom, which I think probably helped.
See... glad that was clarified. I thought you FB was the FRISBEE thread on the pictures forum.

That's really interesting, Val. Sybil growled a couple of times when she was a baby and confronted with new things ( a sign  a brush   )which was something I'd never seen before in a puppy and one of the reasons I kept her (puppy cujo in the making? 8O :twitch:  )

As it turns out she's never met a critter, two of four legged she doesn't love, but she is the most alert OES I've ever lived with. Never misses a trick, the busiest lovebug you'd ever want to know, but constantly scanning the environment and aware of every little thing. It's almost funny. Until you try to teach heads-up attention heeling - like training something out of the exorcist

Fantastic idea to start Maggie in agility classes. So important that existing dogs have their special time - what a lovely thing to do for her.

My pup did the same thing! I actually was scared by such a growl (it was scary) because of my kids, and it was on more than one occasion. ...but once he knew what was accepted and who were his bosses in the house ...that all left, and I've almost forgotten he ever did that!

Yuki didn't really interact w/the puppy either but once the pup got older... well, not Yuki just can't avoid it.

   Oh, I never forgot. Didn't scare me. Just surprised the you know what out of me

What I actually like about it is that it's evolved into an occasional low, almost imperceptible growl when she sees something out of place she thinks I should know about. I'll say "I see it" and, job done, she grins at me and moves on. Doesn't happen a lot since she's out and about a lot and tends to know what's what in the world, but makes me smile every time she does it.

Kristine
Interesting - Chewie does a similar thing.
He never did it as a puppy - in fact I thought he had no awareness back then~!

He gives a low growl, and I feel it through the lead.
The 1st time it was so quiet out (walking in the twilight hours) that LeAnne heard it as well. She was amazed too - "was that CHEWIE??"
He looks, sniffs the air and decides it's OK - in a few seconds. I acknowledge him too. And give the OK.

Not that I ever want to find out, but I am kind of curious what his next step would be if I didn't give the OK after he alerts me to something......
Welcome Henry!!!! You are one adorable puppy!
I'm so excited for you! Henry is a perfect name for the little guy :D

Keep us updated with lots of pictures!
AWWWWW! how cute! we will be looking for him at the dog park!!
What a gorgeous little fart!! Gotta love the "comma" marking just behind his shoulders and finally is that a blue right eye I see?

Darn it is way too long since we've had a little fluffball of Bobtail around the house!

Congrats

Thanks and Cheers

Carl
Hi Valerie how is henry doing now with maggie? Any progress is she taking an interest in the little guy?

I always say let them bond on their own terms, when brie first came here, peppa and kelsey ignorned her, not interested at all, BUT then all that changed with a few weeks, brie then had a constantly wet head due to licking, cleaning and fussing by the older girls. After a period of time if I took brie outside to potty both girls would then flip her over and sniff, lick and check her out as to say "Ooooh are you all right, where ya been and making sure all is ok with her"

Give maggie time to adjust to a new fuzz ball in the house, I am sure as she gets to know henry they will be inseperable and looking out for each other as well.

Look forward also to hear how the Magic Mags does with the agility classes I am sure she is going to excell in that. When you do go and when you can, take Henry to watch big sis in action, good socialisation for him too and meeting other doggies priceless.

I just posted in another thread about this. I am completely letting Maggie set her terms with Henry. She is so good and I completely trust her. She is starting to play with him but it is very controlled at this point. She LOVES agility. She grins through the whole class. I would not be able to manage Henry there but I've signed him up for his own puppy socialization classes. He's gone twice already and he loves it and comes home completely exhausted. He's been passed out tonight for nearly 5 hours after the class. So I would say it is all going really great.

Thank you! His eyes seem to be an indeterminate shade of brown but they are definitely pretty. Only one has liner -- the other is pink. He has some white on his rear that looks like he has a bit of toilet paper stuck to his bum.

Great! I need to wait til he is bigger and has had all his shots, of course. But I expect it will be a blast when he is ready. . .

Henry is just beautiful... and look at that face!!!! Big congratulations on that little fellow!!!!!!!!
Congrats on your new pupper -- he sure is a cutie.
Darn - you made this announcement during Sheepiepalooza preparations and I missed it. Thank goodness someone pulled up an old post....

Congratulations!!!!!! This is so exciting and what a wonderful name.

That is really cool that Maggie is doing agility now. With her zest for life she would naturally love something that is so much fun. I can just see her grinning.

More pictures of Henry please.....
