When should I transition from Puppy to Adult formula?
I have been thinking about switching her food (slowly of course) to another brand. My breeder has been mixing her dogs food with Taste of the Wild and Exceed lamb and rice. How long should I keep her on a puppy formula? Erin |

| Opinions vary, but I get my dogs off puppy food by five months old. A large breed puppy food probably isn't as much of an issue since it presumably takes into account the various ratios of calcium/phosperous/protein and fat levels that you want for the slow, steady growth that is best for developing joints, but I still don't want them on it past six months old.
That's just me. Your milage may, as they say, vary 
By a year old, definitely find a nice adult food. Kristine |
