What are you doing over there?!

Today the dogs were playing in and out of the house via the dog door as I cleaned up around the kitchen. The dogs next door were out so tey like to run the fenceline with them. I can see them when they pass by me through the kitchen window and I know if I don't see them for a certain amount of time, they need a check up. Well, before I even started thinking it was time to investigate what kind of shennanigans were going on, I hear barking and squealing like I've never heard. I run outside and somehow, Owen is now on the other side of fence, scaring the crap out of their Cockapoo (he was the shrieker). The weird part is, we have no idea how he got there because he isn't a jumper.

After getting him back in the yard and letting them play while we talked to our neighbor, we think we figured it out. Bear likes to lay against the fence and sometimes, he even just stands there. We're pretty sure that Owen is using Bear as a jumping platform. I've seen them climb on each other's backs before but I never thought they'd actually become gymnasts doing it! James thinks that he stood on Bear, Bear stood up and then Owen just tumbled over the fence. That seems more likely but I like the idea of them as like a little circus tumbling team!

They haven't been watching Steve McQueen at the end of The Great Escape have they?
Wow! Amazing what they can do with teamwork, huh? I would have loved to have been there to see it happen - - -

I like the idea of them as a circus tumbling team too. You could imagine them with big silly grins on their faces!
Holy acrobatic sheepie, batgirl!! :o What a stunt that was!! 8O

Shaun plays soccer
I missed this post originally. That is so funny.

Have they attempted it again?
Wonderful, thank you for posting that!
No, it hasn't happened again. I've been spying on them a lot to see if I can catch how it happened in the act but no repeat performances. I hope it was just a fluke. Not only do I not want them performing team acrobatics, I don't want Owen hurt going over the fence. It was funny though!

I am happy to hear that Owen has become more responsible and is staying on his side of the fence. :D

Reading your story reminded me of why 5yrs ago I had second thoughts about adopting China...both of her parents are known fence jumpers. Her mother was also a table dancer, but that is another story. I was so afraid that the jumping femce/escaping was part of their breed I was really concerned. I adopted her anyway, China never has jumped a fence, however when she was younger I caught her table dancing twice, but she hasn't done that in many years. Now I have her in Agility 8O ??????
That is such a funny story! They are SO smart. Now I know why I don't have two.
