| Aw, Brian. I'm very sad for you, but are you sure she hates the condo or is just having some difficulty getting used to it? It sounds like your sheepie has been with a long time and it would be quite an adjustment for everyone involved to get rid or her. It is difficult to place a dog of that age. |

I hope I am not to late, but I would really try not to rehome at that age. I moved last summer with my three dogs, two were twelve at the time and one was eight. My eight year old did great, my one twelve year old did okay and the other twelve year old that I had since a puppy had a stuggle. We had a big fenced yard in the old home now we have a small fenced patio and he has to walk down steps to get there. He seemed a little depressed it was a lot of change for him, I also got married new person to get use to and he had a new rule no dogs on couches. It was a lot of changes for all of us but everyone is doing great. Rehoming was never an option, we are all so bonded that woud have been devastating to me and the dogs. Please give him some time and try to keep consistancy where you can, his bed in the same spot in the new bedroom, walks the same time, he will come around. Believe me it woud be even harder for him to lose you, he loves you. |
