How did you spend your mom's day?????

I hope everyone had a great mothers day!!

I saw all the kids yesterday so today was for my pupperkids!!! After Dino got off of work, we took Heart and Pearl(Coz got a huge bone!!) to the the Central West End..for those of you who attended Sheepiepalooza last year you will remember the area. Lots of outdoor cafes, people walking their dogs.

We took a relaxing walk around the neighborhood, the we went to Culpeppers to get a bite and a Cosmo. So many people and kids wanted to pet the 'big, fluffy dogs'..for those who were really excited about them, I mentioned that IN TWO WEEKS, there will be many many sheepdogs wandering around..everyone said they would come and watch!!! :D :D :D

The only disappointment was that the Cupcakery was closed (BECAUSE it was Sunday!!!)!!!   so I couldn't get my sweet fix!!! Darn!!! I guess I'll have to wait until Sheepiepalooza!!!!!!!

HAPPY MOM'S DAY TO ALL THE FORUM!!!!!!!!

That sounds like the best Momma's Day!

We are sitting waiting on Daddy to get home :(
He is on call this weekend and the a/c business
is hopping right now!
I did nothing
My children all called but they have families of thier own and then some. We use to try to get together but with 3 oes and 5 other small babies (thier children) plus it is to much. So I guess quiet is good.
also it was COLD!!!!!!
Hope you all had a nice day.
Glad you at least got to see the kids. Hanging out with just the pups on Mother's Day is totally my ideal of the perfect weekend!

Started out the day getting a cookie cake while I showered ...which is very like my husband to go get it while I'm showering...lol

but then we went to a petzoo/restaurant ...probably not a good combo to feed goats, chicken, and horses while playing in icky sand and following it down with food. BTW, a huge...enormous, gigantic flying roach fell onto my food while eating it. Then we had a waiter (male, we think...) freak out like a baby when I told him. Caught in a cup and called a girl waitress over to kill it (the restaurant is an outside type country place).

Then splash pad, and now inside eating cookie cake ....for the third time.
My week-end couldn't have gone better. Both kids came home from VA yesterday. We started out going to our local farmers market to get some fresh stuff to grill last night. Spencer always loved this market, and his enthusiasm didn't disappoint this time either. Then dinner was a family effort, with everyone chopping, kabobbing or marinating and grilling something. Lots of good conversation and laughs.:aww: We finished the day off at a local comedy club and had a blast! It's just a small hole-in-the-wall club and the comics were basically unknowns, but they were SO funny!:clappurple: My sides were hurting by the time we left there.

Although they kinda pushed back, I told them I wanted them both to go to church with us this morning - said I don't ask for much from them but I was asking for this. Once there they were okay, it was just getting them up that was the hard part! Then we had reservations at a local hotel chain for their Mother's Day buffet (also took my MIL), and the kids left to return to VA from there.

All in all, just a WONDERFUL 2 days with my babies! Just wish they didn't have to live so far away.
At a dog show, but since Zach was WD each day and picked up points it was fine by me :)
How wonderful, Chris! Sounds perfect. :P

Joah - I gotta say, the palmetto bug in my plate would've been a big upset in my day. I'm so glad you didn't let it ruin yours!! :D
No upright kids at home or hubby so believe it or not I had a great day of ME time

Only 2 doggies at home too, hubby took mega bark babette away for the night and is back today with her. Soooo quiet in the house, loved it, no barkers, actually kept poking syd to see if he was alive

No 2 son is at sea but he did ring me and no 1 Son had a license test for his motor cycle. NO not on the road even though he is liscensed for that now only for recreational dirt bike riding or he will suffer the wrath of him mum if ever on the roads riding.

He came home and gave me a lovely card, bottle of vino which went down well and also cooked dinner 8O  Only steak on the BBQ and a pre-packaged salad but I enjoyed it as I did not have to cook myself.

I love a day like that to myself, I must be strange. 8)
At the dog show & best of all WINNING! 2 points on Brea and then Owen & Jill going BOB out of the puppy class! As one of their breeders, they made me very happy on Mother's Day! And of course Olivia gave me her present a day early by finishing the day before!
LeAnne and family were here visiting for the weekend. Today is also LeAnne and Lisa's 25th birthday, so we had to celebrate their quarter century b-day as well! :D

Todd went fishing (fishing opener in Minnesota!), LeAnne and family went down to visit Keith's family, so I got to take Maggie and Chewie to a weight pull. :D
Maggie did her debut, and pulled 975 pounds, on leash with help - but she actually pulled. I was so proud - our little rescue girl who was terrified of everything 2 yrs ago did so well. :D Not bad for driving up to the Cities, strange building, never even has had a harness on ever before. 8O Yippee!

Chewie pulled fabulous - his pull will get announced later when the pictures get approved. :D :D

Then Todd and I did a transport of a basset with the basset rescue. LeAnne is finishing the transport - he is riding with them up to his foster home.

Finally, Todd and I, LeAnne and family, and Travis and GF Nicole took me out for a late dinner - and I call that a great day! :D :D :D :D
Had a fabulous day! Both of the children came home--Justin even brought Marley "the grandog". Decided to stay home this year and grill out. Husband and children prepared everything and kept the Bloody Mary's coming while they cooked. Enjoyed the dogs, the kids and the wonderful lunch!
After lunch a really nice lazy afternoon watching movies---even got the boys to watch "Bride Wars" with us!
Might have even convinced my son to attend Sheepiepalooza with us!
A really good day! :D :D :D
Sounds like you had a very busy Mother's Day weekend, Dawn! But sometimes those are the most fun................. especially when you are enjoyng what you are doing! :D
Our plan for Mother's Day was to go to the beach at Sebatian Inlet as has been our tradition since we moved to Florida 6 yrs ago. We then planned to have dinner at Long Horn Steakhouse.

As we where gathering our beach stuff, I noticed that near Asia's eye it was swelling. I was able to capture the bug doing it's dasturdly deed. I had to wash the bite mark and put anti biotic on it. I couldn't leave her without knowing if she was going to get worse, so we canceled our beach plans.

The good news is that Asia's swelling was down in a few hours. TG no trip to the Vet!!! She is doing fine now and is no worse for wear. lol

After Asia's swelling had all but disappeared we headed out to dinner. We had a lovely dinner of Crusted Chicken Parmasan (yes, chicken at a steak house) and a Rasberry Margarita...yummy! I brought have of my dinner home to share with my girls, but decided to save it for today. Sorry girls. lol We really enjoyed dinner and it was so nice and relaxing The Margarita was so refreshing. It was 97F here yesterday.

After dinner we headed home. I heard from both of my sons in MI and my youngest son came to visit. My daughter was with us also. So all in all a nice Mother's Day.
I had a great mother's day, too! Saturday my son sent me 2 dozen multi colored roses! Yes, I cried.

Yesterday, my daught came over, and we had planned to go out to dinner (since I refuse to cook on mother's day!). But she surprised me and stopped at a fabulous deli and brought (real jewish) corned beef, hard kosher salami, rye bread, pickles, potato salad, chopped liver, butter cookies and a bottle of St. Emillion merlot! MUCH BETTER THAN GOING OUT TO DINNER! I rarely get to eat that stuff anymore, and I love it!

Stef, Tony and I gorged ourselves! Then we took a very long, lovely walk with the 3 pups around the neighborhood. It was wonderful! When people see 2 sheepdogs, they go nuts!

It was a great day, and it sounds like everyone else had a great one as well!

8O 8O 8O Mayo voids the entire experience! Oh well, I know people that eat kethup on bologne.
I will eat it on white bread, too. I don't like rye. But I don't put cheese on it, unless it's a reuben. (I hope I'm still an honorary Jew).
