OES bearing Mother's Day gifts

OK, this may be stretching it, but it was unusual and tomorrow is Mother’s Day …

CAUTION: People with weak stomachs should stop reading here.

We took Gus to his favorite off-leash walk place today. About a quarter of the way into the walk, Gus took off, disappeared for a bit, then came trotting back with something in his mouth. Something that he dropped at my feet before proudly sitting back and waiting to be praised. The something was a deer’s foot – complete with hoof and fur still attached. YUK!

Later, towards the end of the walk as we were approaching the car, Gus took off again, this time returning with another “gift.” This time it was the deer’s head! GROSS!

Still, I suppose it isn’t the gift but the thought …

Needless to say, we won’t be taking Gus there for a walk anytime some! That's a shame, because Gus loves to run free (and we love to watch him run) and this is a remote box-canyon type place where he can't wander too far and get lost. But from now on, it'll be on-leash in a more civilized venue!

Urgh!

I used to have a beautiful old Tonkinese cat growing up and every year he would bring me a horrible dead rat on my birthday 8O He passed away years ago, but every so often I still mysteriously stumble across a plump dead rat when my birthday rolls around
 I love those two stories!
You so faithfully bring home the food, he's just honoring his pack leader, isn't he sweet.......
I think that is great! Okay, the dead animal parts -- ewww!

But, Gus is great!
We have a black cat that brings us all the animals he finds playing in our front yard, so far he has brought home some birds, a couple of baby rabbits and even another cat, all of which were alive and unharmed 8O 8O I think he thought they needed a nice friendly house to live in
Hmmm....I think as gifts go, I'll pass on the deer foot and head. :cow:

But as for the thought, what a good sheepie!!
Hi everyone. I'm brand new and plan to introduce myself with pics of my Gracie later on (at work right now... sssshhh!) but just had to pipe in here.
I too have a black cat who has proudly presented me with a couple of mice. When he did it he would swagger to me making this awful mournful wailing noise and prop the mouse on the floor. This has not happened in a while until one morning I woke up to that familiar wailing... grossed out I jump out of the bed to go clean up the mess... and find my cat, Joey, doing his proud walk of fame and tossing in front of me... a squishy foam ball!! I was proud and amazed like he wanted me to be but cracked up almost making a mess of my own once he was no longer in my sight! :)

I love this forum! More later of my OES.
Salla.
I just spoke to my Mom! She got a late Mother's Day pressie from her mini poodle..................the poodle has her own bean bag (no of course she's not spoilt a small dog just needs its own large bean bag) Mom came home and found the poodle snoozing in the bean bag with a large and very dead bird lying dead beside her.
The cats caught the bird but the poodle took it off them and bought it inside. 8O
Hi Salla! Welcome to the community.
gosh I guess I'm just lucky....Henry brings me flowers and branches from my plants....obviously he thinks he's (Don Bourke) a gardening guru
