Special Hair Ties for OES

Hi Again,
I'm sitting here at work thinking about when Maximus' hair grows back as I look at the pictures of the all the beautiful long haired OES' and I was wondering...before I got Maximus shaved, I would put one of my hair ties in his hair to hold it up so that he can see (and also because he looked so cute  but he always gets it off of his head pretty quickly, usually with his paw or by rubbing his head on the rug until it comes out. Are there certain hair ties I should be using for his hair?
I always appreciate your advice.
Thanks,
Judy A

I just use elastic bands for girls hair. There are some non-slip ones with a little bit of rubber coating on the inside that hold really well. I just get them at the supermarket or Walmart/Target.

That's what I use for Jenny as well. I get the smaller ones and they seem to work better for me. Plus they come in different colors.
I use the plastic ones for Sammy, they don't slip and slide out easily when you take them out :D
The best ones I've ever used are clear bands for horses, the ones they use for braiding work great and don't fall out.

I use horse bands as well, though I've found them in black and also in white. Some dog grooming supply stores (aimed at show dogs) and several catalogs carry cute colored ones and I do love them, but the horse ones are a lot less expensive overall and seem to last longer, hold much better/break less easily. (Locally I can get them at Farm and Fleet)

The dogs have to get used to wearing them. Some hate them, but very few don't get used to it and leave them alone in fairly short period of time.

I envy people who can put their dogs hair up with decorative tiebacks or even pretty barretts aimed at little girls (the human kind), but with mine their relatives take that as a challenge and will sometimes remove them. I think Sybil thinks they're toys if not edibles. Figures. She destroys my scrunchies as well if she can get her teeth on them. Usually not while they're still on my head.

Mmmm Sybil has been phoning Tiggy with instructions on how to be a proper sheepie. Any hair tie or clip is in Tiggy's opinion a "how quickly can I remove it challenge" I tried some cute little clips with flowers on them. She got those out quick smart and ate the flowers off (I rescued the flowers before they disappeared but took that as a hint regarding Tiggy's dislike or cutesy. I stick to plain and functional now.

The sad tragedy as far as scrunchies go, is that lately I've ended up putting one off Tiggy's elastics in my hair because I cant find any I've mine as I hid them so Tiggy wouldnt eat them. She did try to eat a my scrunchie out of my hair the other day.

I was head down, b-- up getting one of Tig's toys out from under the couch and she took the opportunity for a nibble and a tug.
