Can someone please recommend a good detangler? Although Maximus' hair is still manageable since he was recently shaved, I would like to be able to maintain his long coat once it begins to grow. When doing a google search several brands come up so I look to the experts for advice ![]() Also, how do you get your dogs to sit for grooming? Max doesn't seem to really want to stay still for it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Judy |

For a general grooming I like Crown Royale's "Ultimate Detangling Spray" or Chris Christensen's "Ice on Ice". "The Stuff" is good for a bit more detangling effect but the overspray is dangerous on an already slick floor. ![]() For really matted hair, try saturating with a little Cowboy Magic "Detangle and Shine", let soak a few minutes and brush out. |
I use Show Seasons detangler which I think is fantastic, works better on wet hair but can be used on dry.
I forgot to say this is from the USA Val |
My favs are Ice on Ice and The Stuff. |

You can pick up Crown Royale at almost any dog show or order from Cherrybrook. I like it best because the scent is spicy rather than perfumey. You may be able to buy directly from Show Seasons but they have a number of distributors on-line: http://www.showseasonproducts.com/distrib.php If you can wait until September to buy all your grooming goodies, you have Groom Expo 2009 on 9/17/09 – 9/20/09 in Hershey, PA. Show Seasons usually has a booth at the big shows. |
There are quite a few places selling show season, there website tells you who
