Lisa and Foxie Loxie

Last Friday was the BIG day.

Tiggy and I were to make our way out to Lisa's for lessons in keeping a sheepie girl looking gorgeous. :D
Tiggy had been bathed a week or so earlier after rolling in some poop at the off lead park
Lots of brushing ensued and by Thurs night she was all beautiful and ready for Lisa expert ministrations. :D :D :D

Friday morning we went to a different grassy park where less dogs visit (minimises the risk of poop) to use up some energy, so that Tiggy had a least a chance of behaving herself at Lisa's.
While she was at least 30 feet away from me Tiggy stopped sniffed the grass intently and suddenly started rolling and rubbing her face all over the ground.

"Noooooo!!" I shouted while bolting across the park, leaving a bewildered DH in my wake. I KNEW what she'd found.

Yep, fox spoor!! 8O 8O That lovely musky scent, lovely STRONG musky scent. Home we rushed and sprayed grooming tonic with perfume everywhere and brushed and sprayed and brushed. And wiped with a wet flannel and brushed and sprayed some more.

It was better but as Lisa can attest not perfect and there was no time for a bath and dry. So after a trip to the pet warehouse in the back of Lisa's car, Lisa's car has been baptised with foxie loxie au de cologne, as Tiggy had great fun digging up all the blankets.

Then Lisa was very charming and insisted that Tiggy didnt smell much (yeah right, I have chronic sinusitis and I could smell the little witch) while she was up close and personal trimming her. So now I have a beautifully trimmed, gorgeous looking sheepie who is just a bit on the nose. :roses: And I think I owe Lisa a nice bottle of her favorite bubbley for the great lesson in trimming and extra laundry to boot. She'll be able to continue her celebrations on Brian's win for longer.

Dont worry Kristine I asked the vet straight away were there any horrible diseases that a dog could catch from foxes.

Great minds, and all?

If there was, Belle would have been dead years ago...

I vividly (!) recall running her at an agility trial in a state park. I took her for her a brief hike as part of our warm-up and, yup, twenty minutes before our first run, she did as Tiggy does. 8O :twitch:

Knowing my dog    I travel prepared and had some small towels, a brush and some rinseless shampoo with me, but it really didn't have much of an effect, plus she sported this lovely green stain on her ample white shawl that was sort of a dead give-away.

The joke was this was a bitch who tended to work fairly close in agility, but not that day. I couldn't get far enough away from her! PU!!!!

Do we have pictures of the little princess sporting her new 'do? Of Lisa, perhaps, sporting her new bubbly?

Kristine
Lisa took some pics but head shots I think because if we didnt know better we'd swear Tiggy and Babs were separated at birth. I was too busy trying to memorise everything Lisa told me and forgot I brought my camera.
I took some after we got home but she'd jumped and wriggled around in the back of the car by then, so the effect was spoiled. Will upload them and post soon.
Still have to provide Lisa with more bubbley but will attempt to sneak over and take pics through the window. Or maybe I could train Babs up in covert camera work. 8)
Oooh covert op maybe you could sneak a hidden camera into her topknot!?! .......you never know what you might catch on film......sounds risky I'd go with the champas :)

I went one time to visit one of my dogs that had
been adopted a year or so prior!
Right before I got there Bevyn had his way with a
groundhog or something!
Pam(new Mommy) was mortified...he had never killed anything
before(that she knew of  )
I wish there were homes like her for every foster dog but, bless
her heart she couldn't believe he did this on the day
Auntie Kathy was coming to visit!
I, in turn was not phased

Oh yes, and how fun to spend the day with Lisa and the
gang! :D
It was a fun day! And I learnt lots.

Before: is it a dog or a rug in need of a clean?

After the trip home, oh a sheepie; still with a dirty face

Image

Yes I know I've been to the beautician, gorgeous arent I?

Image

Lisa gave me a pair of boots. What do you think? I dont know if I like them, they feel funny and I cant keep them on yet!!

Image
she is just georgeous!!!! the problem with the boots is that they arent high heels.....
Geez Mim foxie loxie (Yep her new name  ) looks real thrilled in her booties NOT 8)  You might need to adjust the straps so they are tighter for her to stay on and if you can get her to stand still long enough you need to pull the boots right up the leg before doing up the straps.

She is so like babette in personality and the mischief look too. Both are the same when it comes to the camera, aint going to sit still long enough too much happening to stay still for a blasted photo :P

Dont worry about the fox scent she left here, I did tell you about one of mine rolling in Fresh green sloppy cow dung and another that came in from outside with little looked like rice in her coat and the most out of this world smell, yep a dead, decayed possum Oooooh and the maggots not rice 8O :? EEEWWWWW   We wont talk about the rotten bird egg that one managed to chuck up in the house either.

Gotta luv sheepies who love there own unique but pongy perfumes they think at least it smells awesome

Good time now to try out your new shampoo on foxie loxie
Pulling the boots right up her leg was impossible  The little witch wouldnt stand still. I'm sure with practise we'll get there.
And I will have to practice my needle work and make the elastic shorter for Miss Barbie Legs.
Very cute pictures - and I can see the hand of Lisa in the finished product!!!! :D

I bet you two had a fine (very fine) time as well.
Here is Lisa's pic, before Tiggy stuck her beak in all sorts of odd corners and got more grubby!

Image

And another one. "Hey Lisa, I'm happy now that I'm off the grooming table!"

Image
She is gorgeous! What a HAPPY HAPPY face!  Just love those sheepie SMILES!!
i want a clean dog so jelous
