OES in Mexico

Anyone know of an OES rescue organization in Mexico? I have one 3 year old female OES, Shaggy Maggie Mae. Would love to have a couple more, and would prefer to rescue an adult. I have a large, fenced place on a lake and a wonderful vet close by. We would take very good care of another OES. I have contacted a couple of OES organizations in the US, but they have policies against placing dogs outside their district in case the adoption doesn´t work out and they have to retrieve the dog.

Kathleen, I´ve been looking for the same thing with no success. I have a 2 year old male and want to add a female companion for him. If you get any news please let me know. I´m in northern Mexico in Saltillo.
Rescue dogs are not a very common thing in Mexico, where the culture of dog ownership is centered on having the dog as a protection or property and not as a companion. You may have some luck contacting your local Animal Protection Associations to see what they have and what you can do to help.

My wife and I just adopted 2 OES's from a lady that could not move to our block and she approached us, since she knew that we had one. I know how you feel, giving them a home made us feel real good.

You can check http://www.deremate.com.mx from time to time Adult OES's appear that are looking for a home. I was thinking abut dedicating some of my spare time to help dogs find new homes, but I didn't know where to start. If you are interested in getting some work done, send us a note, maybe something can be done to help OES's in Mexico.
Hi, I was surfing in the internet and found one female OES, 8 months old looking for a familiy!!
Maybe one of you is interested...

Is the price $1,800 US or 1,800 Mexican Pesos (about $165US)?

My abilities in Spanish are not good.

This is what I can come up with:

Tame Female,
Docked tail,
head is white with black,
black nose
Good with kids,
Only for companionship, not for breeding.
Correcto Ron! 8) You got it all right. Her vaccinations are up to date too.

Price is in pesos (Around $165 USD) and shipping is extra (Around $100 USD) to the border. As far as I know, dogs can cross the border as long as they have their rabies shot and documentation with them. We live in Juarez, Mexico, the city on ther intl. border with El Paso, TX if someone is interested.
Hello everyone, thanks for your responses. I've been traveling so haven't checked in lately. Does anyone know if the dog on Remate is still available? I looked up the website but couldn't see a way to contact anyone. I would be interested.

Also, I'd be very interested in helping with an OES rescue organization in Mexico.

Maggie is doing well, she has been showing in Mexico in small local dog shows this spring. But her show girl career may be ended for the year. Last week she got got a "sticky" mouse trap (with mouse still attached!) stuck in her beard. So one side of her beard is short, as her vet had to cut the trap off.
Poor Maggie, I guess she's not very happy with what happened there. :(

The doggie is still for adoption, http://mexico.deremate.com/accdb/viewIt ... DI=5453930 and the sigh reads:

OES Female
Vaccinated, Neutered, Carnet up to date
$1,800 Pesos (Around 170 USD)

Buyer pays shipping or picks up on the city of Hermosillo, Sonora.

If you or anybody is willing to adopt her, I can help with the translation and we can even help with her crossing the border (We live next to El Paso, TX).

I wish we could adopt her, but our yard is already full with Lennon and Sofi :(
Saulmr, I will try to contact them today or tomorrow. I am interested in this dog. I have an office in Monterrey and get there about every six weeks, so could arrange something my next trip. Have you seen her? Is she in good shape? THANKS!
Hi kathleen!!

Unfortunately, I have not seen the dog, just the pictures that appear on the auction site, I guess you will have to talk to the person that is looking to place her on a good home. I contacted her on an email message and even tough she was slow, she was very attentive and polite.

I would be really great if you could take care of her! I'm also looking for a way to work with the humane societies here in mexico to help the cause, but I haven't had an idea on where to start. Have you had any ideas? Maybe something could come up!
The listing is no longer on deremate.com. I would still love to find another sheepdog and to rescue a doggie who needs a home would be just wonderful. If you know how to contact the person, I would give them a call or send an e-mail.

I am not sure how to use this site, I registered as a member quite a long time ago but did not use it, so apparently they removed my name from the membership and I cannot re-register, so I now log in as a guest. So not sure how you could get her e-mail address to me or mine to her.

THANKS MUCH!
This is the new link to deremate.com, she was reposted and the listing will be available for another 23 hours

The name of the person in charge of this doggie is Cecilia O. Bermudez and you can contact her at PRODAN_SON@hotmail.com or bermudez@hmo.megared.net.mx
I'm sorry I just found this page. I wonder what happened to the Juarez girl? Instead of putting her down, if she had been taken to the El Paso Humane or Las Cruces, the shelters would have contacted either Texas or New Mexico rescue.....so the dog would have had a chance.
I am pleased to read there are people in Mexico interested in rescue. I hope it happens!!
Just an update...

I dont know if this is the same dog or not, but I went to the site, and there is still a dog there for $1,800 pecos....

I guess I should brush up on my spanish skills, then I would know :)

I hope someone can get this fella out of there, I definately would if I had a way to Mexico!!!!
