Bad night

Went to agility training last night...Don't know why. Nothing went right. Dogs were NUTS even before we left. I'm still battling a toothache and was not in so great a mood so of course the boys HAD to act up.

We get there and for the life of me I couldn't get Simon to focus. On me or what we were doing. Garfunkel is just a big goof as usual, trying to figure out what Randy wants. Both of them were very mouthy(barking). Simon and I were doing a series of jumps and he see'ed as I saw'ed and he almost knocked me off my feet. About halfway through class, somehow I twisted my knee.

So....my tooth still hurts(yes I'm on antibiotics), my knee hurts, and I'm still in a bi@&$y mood.

Just venting.

Ahh Sheepie Olympics :)

I believe others have some more interesting stories - mine usually revolve around me getting yelled at :? but when I was trying to train Morgan - for a while he decided it would be much more fun to visit during his turn and would go off in search of pats or treats.

I think we do agility with sheepdogs because we have an appreciation of the ridiculous or the sublime.
But at least you don't have everyone visualizing YOU running around in a pair of tighty whities!

Chalk it up to experience Pam. I guess those nights are there to make you really appreciate the good ones where you click and work like a team. :D
Oh, we all have nights like that. Last Thursday in Mace's class I was so tired I was all but running into walls. Mace was being good, but I couldn't get it together and even my sense of humor, generally my last saving grace, was MIA. Instructor finally conceded there was no hope

Earlier in the day wasn't much better with Sybil who isn't as forgiving as Mace and had absolutely NO FOCUS either. My boss - who doesn't do dog sports, but just has this terrific instinct when it comes to dog training - likes to trouble-shoot for me (I think) and pointed out that my focusless dog focuses just fine when I'M all there. I think that was also the day I was so unfocused at work he accused me of spending too much time with Sybil. Perhaps a contradiction there

Some days you really just shouldn't train at all. That's fine except if you have a scheduled class and you hate to miss it. :? It'll get better.

(And I finally looked up what tighty whities are - been meaning to do that. Wasn't visualizing at all until Dawn mentioned it. Thanks!!! 8O :? :P )
