HELP! My Dog Ate the Kleenex Tissues

In retrospect, leaving my house was my big mistake.

Last Monday, I went to the store to pick up a toilet (yes, the same toilet that doesn't fit) and after the shopping conquest my brother and I went to Wendy's for a quick bite.

As we were sitting in the restaurant, I vaguely noticed a man somewhere behind me coughing a couple of times. Real deep juicy coughs, and I recall thinking "Glad I'm not any closer". Wrong.

Last Wednesday night I started to get a tiny little fever and by Friday I had a decent head cold. I had an pre-existing appointment with my PCP for Friday AM. But I digress....

I have always liked to keep a paper bag for used Kleenex nearby when I have the need to use Kleenex regularly. We ran out of small lunch bag sized bags, and Joan found a larger sized white paper bag -- from a pharmacy I believe. Quite fitting, actually, don't you think?

So this larger, extra high capacity bag had been used all day today. Since I am feeling better, I decided to tackle the finishing details of --you guessed it-- installing the toilet (actually installing the "enhancement kit" from Kohler to fix the mis-fit of their bowl and tank. But I digress....

While I was working upstairs, Joan came in to help and after a few minutes I asked her: "Where's Mulligan?" Knowing his penchant for paper goods of the soft kind. She assured me that he was lying at the bottom of the stairs.

A few (30?) minutes later, Joan went downstairs to grab something and I hear her yell "LEAVE IT!" and I knew exactly what had happened. He ate about 1/2 of the tissues in the bag. The heavily used tissues. EEeeeeeeew.

So knowing that Kleenex don't break down particularly well, and knowing the large quantity of paper ingested, I decided he needed to return the spoils of his war against all things soft and delectable. Grabbed the Hydrogen peroxide and gave 2 ounces (minus half an ounce) right away, then 5 minutes later another ounce and a half. Bingo!

Well, from Joan's description (I didn't go out with him, Joan did) I don't think we got it all back, but I feel much better about the reduced quantity in his tummy.

This has been the toilet from hell. It is installed now, the seat is on, the tank is closed and it flushes. We haven't christened it yet. But I digress....

Yuk!

There are times I wonder why we love our furkids so much

Hope your cold is better soon!
Mmmmmmm, tasty. Not the peroxide you dolt.
Glad you're feeling better, Ron.
That horrible bug or something like it is doing the rounds over here in Aus too. So far despite patients breathing, sniffling and coughing all over me I've avoided it. I love echinacea and Vit C.
Oh my! What is it with used tissues????? Ewwwwww!
The Culmination of the Caper of the Consumed Kleenex?

KaKa!

After getting Mulligan to return some of the Kleenex on Tuesday night, our intrepid explorer returned more on Wednesday, and even more today. Since yesterday it was well mixed and today it was first followed by normal stool we are hoping that this installment is in the bag.

Tune in next week, for another episode of: As the Stomach Turns.
Yuck!

Maggie also loves the kleenex. Ewww.

And within a month another one in the basement, little scared of that one, its going to be a sana flush type. :?: All I now no breaking of cement and moving dirt out of the house, BUT from there all new to me.

Again feel better.
