What's the best thing about Sheepies?

Hi!
I am new here!
Need to know what I am getting myself into by getting a OES!!!
We have shown Chesapeake for 18 years, have a Border Collie and a
Dachshund and everyone is 12 years old or older!!!
We need a puppy again!!
I would like to do some therapy work with a new dog.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Love this site!!!

Welcome to the forum!!!
If you know anything about OES they need alot of grooming.
You can keep them in a puppy cut. I do! I have 3!!!
I still have to brush everyday.
They are great dogs, and clowns.
You have a Border Collie and thats a high energy dog.
These can be too or layed back. I have one High and 2 low.
Ask away anything you need to.
You might look into rescueing a young dog or adopting.
Thats up to you. Puppies are great too.
Again WELCOME
Thank you OES Mommy!!
Yes, I plan to adopt a rescue, hopefully without too much baggage!
Do you keep your kids in a puppy cut year around?
I was thinking of doing that!

The best thing about oes in my opinion is that they are perpetually goofy, happy puppies at heart. :)
I agree with Willowsprite; I think the best thing about Sheepdogs is how no matter what, they can always make me smile, and often laugh out loud.

Training was a challenge for me; I have one "high energy" spaz and one "low energy" criminal mastermind. But with determination, both have responded well to their training. I get so much pride and joy from my girls that all the work was worth it.
Thanks Darth Snuggle . . . I have had Airedales in the past and miss them
very much, simply for their BIG NOSE and WET KISSES! And always happy attitude. It's always fun to come home to that kind of welcome.

I'll be at a show in Kalamazoo with my 9 month old boy over Memorial Day weekend (Sat, Sun and Mon)if you're around and would like to meet him and talk OES. One of my breeders should have an adult female there, too, I think. I don't know what time we show yet but, if you're interested, just say the word and when I know, I'll PM you our ring times and you can come watch and pet some dogs afterward (when we're allowed to mess up the grooming).

Welcome to the forum!

Yes!

You will look for someone with long hair and a dog show blue ribbon, and for Owen too.

If you'll be going to Midland I'll be there with two of my boys. I'm easy to spot, blonde and covered in cornstarch :D .
Welcome from South Dakota.
The best thing about sheepies is they make everyone smile and feel happy inside. We can not go anywhere without someone smiling, or telling us what a great dog we have.
They are smart and can be thoughtful with what they decide to do or not do.
Even when he challenges me - does not behave as well for me as for Greg,, I feel lucky to have him with us.
Enjoy!

Welcome Janie from Upside down land. :D

Best thing about sheepies? Just being sheepie, clowns, peter pan of dog breeds and loads of fun, carefull though they can become addictive and you cant stop at one.
Thank you everyone! :D
I feel very welcome!!! (good feeling!!)

lisaoes . . . . I have learned that about horses too!! . . . (Like potato chips,
can't have just one!)

Thanks again!!

Welcome from Tennessee!
The BEST thing about Sheepies is the contagious 'happiness' that everyone who meets them takes with them. Once they capture your heart--they live there forever!! :hearts: :hearts: :hearts: :D
