New from San Diego, CA

Hello everyone,

My wife and I are brand new owners of an OES, her name is Matilde and she is 1.5 years old. We adotped her from some friends who couldn't care for her any more and yesterday was her first day at her new home.

Have been reading this forum only for a short while, but I am sure I will get a lot of helpful advice from you.

Regards,

Paco, Tammy & Matilde.

Thanks for adopting a loveing sheepie.
.
Thank you for the welcome OES Mommy,

We will post some pics very soon. We are very happy about adopting Matilde, it seems she is full of energy and she is very playfull.

We are also a bit concern about her hair, the previous owners didn't groom at all and I am thinking we'll have to cut her hair very short and start over.

Any suggestions or comments ?
YEP. Best to clip short and then start over.
Do you have a groomer?
Find a good one. Its best.
I keep mine in puppy cut.
Maybe you don't have to shave but just cut down.
Let the groomer decide.
Welcome to the forum :)
Welcome :D And congrats on your new girl Matilde!!
Welcome from Minnesota. :D

welcome from Sydney, Australia :D
Thank you all for your comments ...

By the way, there has been a name change, Matilde is now Lola, My wife is from Spaniard heritage, so ... what can I do ...

The pics will be coming soon and I do have a question about how to make Lola get along with our cat. but I guess I should take that question into the behaviour section, right ?

Anyway, thanks again ...

Paco, Tammy & Lola.
Love the new name!! :o I had done the samething with our Snow. When we got her she had been named Satin. NOT FOR ME!!!
At that time we had a rescue we named Cinderella. She had a bad backrourd and no name. So we thought she went from rags to riches.
Thats how she got named. And when we adopted Satin now Snow White it was perfect. We had to put Cinde down last year due to cancer.
I hope she takes her new name well.
Welcome to you and Lola!
Congratulations and welcome!
