Dog Groomers in San Antonio
I want to start interviewing groomers and getting recommendations from their clients and doing drop in checks before Duncan actually needs a haircut and the other maintainence items like plucking his ears and clipping his toenails. If anyone has the name of a groomer that they know does good work and has experience with OES's, please drop me a line. I'm an anxious, first time, over protective OES mom -- but Duncan's my baby. He's had a hard time of it up until he was fostered by Steve and Donna and adopted by my husband and me. I want to do the best for him. |

| I guess that I should add that I don't mind driving if the groomer is on the northwest side of town and is very good. So, please, if you have a place let me know. Thank you in advance. |
| I could ask my sil who lives there, but honestly... to me, the best way to find out is trial and error. You aren't working with a lot of hair right now anyway, so just going to a place that doesn't look janky ...ask them some questions (which usually is enough for me to know whether or not they know what they're doing), and see how it goes. I go through every one in town before I find one I'm "okay" with...
I usually don't take recommendations from people who tell me to go to petsmart/petco fwiw. That's just from my experience. You could also check out those mobile groomers although they cost a little more. That way, they do it in your driveway and you can be there. Ours lets us go in the van with them!!! If you're just keeping your dog in a puppycut, any recommendation of an establishment where they're just wonderful with the dogs is where I'd go  |
| Easy. Contact Texas OES Rescue and ask them for a recommendation.
I'm sure you aren't the first from your area with a Sheepie. My sister and friends have been gone from SA too long to be able to rely on their recommendations - and since they didn't have Sheepies, it would have been worthless anyway. |
| I love San Antonio. My first sheepie came from SA and I met my husband there. What a great city. Havent been there for a long time though. |
