Can you tell I'm happy, excited, pleased and PROUD??

If you've been on the board for awhile, you know I've been wanting to do this for the longest time. I finally got my behind in gear and started the training two months ago. They've done really good and I'm super proud of them both. Genny also got her CGC. (Beau already had his).

They're passed out cold in the floor right now. :lol: I had them out in town all afternoon so they could greet people and get some practice before the test. They're exhausted. :lol:

I was going to post a picture where I posed with them and their certificates, but, well....let's just say Robbie's not the greatest photographer. :roll: I looked like a goof ball in one and the other one he cut the dogs' heads in half. :roll: :lol:

Now...on to Rally & Agility. :lmt:

Don't sell your guys short. Rally is just a prep for formal obedience.... 8)

I see CDs to add to the CGCs and TDIs and...?

Do you have any idea what type of therapy work they'll be doing? I was helping a friend get her agility lab ready to be tested just the other night. In her case, labs being labs, and this one being named Godiva and on a constant diet :lol: :lol: :lol: she was somewhat concerned about her ability to pass the dropped food distraction unmolested.... :lol: :lol:

I expect we'll be mostly in nursing homes and the childrens' reading programs, Kristine. I don't really know what all the local chapter has requests for at this point. I know the evaluator is in my obedience club and she mostly visits nursing homes. We also have a children's hospital nearby, so I hope to be able to go there as well.

Genny, who is the one I wasn't worried about at all, nearly failed the "leave it" command when passing by food. I thought we'd be walking by a treat on the floor or maybe a bowl of kibble. Difficult, but not impossible. But nooooo....she used a chicken breast!! It took several attempts, but I finally got her passed it on a loose leash. :phew: Other than that, there were no hiccups. :phew:

I'm putting Beaureguard in the Rally classes which begin next week. Genny gets bored more easily and she's more agile, so I think the agility better suits her. I've got to find a class for her.

IF we do okay in these, I might have the confidence to go on to Obedience. Frankly that one scares the socks off me. 8O :lol:

We just took a short, four week, basic obedience class. But, I practiced with them at home constantly. Every morning when we take our walk, I stop at various locations and run them through the paces. Sits/Downs/Stays/Come, etc. Plus, we walk to an elementary school and pass some road construction on the way, so they get to greet people and ignore distractions which is all part of the test.

I'm sure Oliver would do great! Do you know the CGC requirements? There is a list on the AKC website and also at the TDI website.

Oh yeah. :cheer: I bought a whole bag full of assorted gourmet dog cookies at Petco yesterday while we were out & about and they got all of them. :lol:
I figured we could splurge a little. We've all been dieting and walking and when I took them to the vet to be weighed yesterday, Gen's lost 5 lbs and Beau's lost 4 lbs. :banana:
