Funny foster

It is a long story....I went to pick up a new foster
(she is a 6y/o very sweet oes)
and even though I originally said no to
taking her "side kick"...I took him!
I have a Chinese Crested!
Many rescues including Chinese Crested Rescue has
been very supportive and he will go to another rescue or
we may just foster BUT, I never imagined us with a 6 lb dog!
Hairless too!!!!!
How weird!
He looks so funny in a house full of furries

Bless you for taking him on!!!
But you're right definitely polar opposites in the hairyness and size stakes.
Please post some pics they'll be a sight I bet. :D
How fun. :D

We never had a little dog until daughter Lisa got a Min Pin as her dog to train for 4-H. Definitely a new experience. :D

Oh, boy. The first time I saw a crested I though the poor thing had some kind of horrible skin disease

A lot of OES people gradually move into smaller breeds as they mature (the people, not the dogs  ). Some shorter haired breeds like Frenchies and Cavaliers and small terriers, but also some more logical breeds like Tibbies, and Havanese, Lowchen and Shih Tzus....Just mentioning that even though you and Marty are a long way off from needing something smaller and less work...

The biggest problem I've had with visting small dogs is making sure the big dogs don't trample them, though one who has grown up with an OES probably already knows the drill. Maybe you'll get lucky and be able to place them together? :D Explain that the poor deprived crested needs the OES to keep him warm? (well....   )

I fell in love with some Italian Greyhounds in the little girls' puppy agility classes and for a while considered getting one, but I couldn't live with anything that fragile that needed a coat to go out in the winter. Every time I turned around in between "doing stuff" I had to dig an IG out of the little girls coats and the owners would frisk my dogs at the end up class to make sure I hadn't acquired one of their dogs by mistake. They loved my girls for their warmth    Probably less of an issue where you live 8)

Oh wow!!! I can't wait to see pictures of both of your fosters....
I want pics too. I hope the little one does well with the big dogs!! I'm not a big fan of that breed, but I'm sure it'll create some fun antics to read about. ;)
how are they getting along.. you fur kids must looks at him like what is this thing with no hair
Fun! How is he doing with all the big dogs? And what do they think of him?
Little guy is not with all my dogs.....
too much!
My guys play rough!

He is still with big sister Betty!
They are so shy and timid that would not be fair!
We will work into that....

They are very nice dogs just not used to even being in the house!
Throwing a pack of sheepies at them would be scary!
They have met through baby gates and I am sure they will do fine!

ME...I have to watch my feet, never had anything so small to work around
I thought that I wanted a Chinese Crested for the longest time! One day we were at a dog show and happened to be set up next to some Crested people. We talked about how funny it was that I had these big furry dogs and wanted a tiny hairless one. I asked if I could hold one of their dogs and as soon as they put one in my hands I was completely grossed out! The skin felt horrifying to me! (And apparently the look on my face said so! 8O ) There went that big idea!

Well, you could get the powder puff variety - then the skin is covered!
Yeah, I felt the same way about a little rhino!
He actually went to a different rescue today!
I am such a sap....Marty had to take him!
After two days I was already attached to the lil pee head!
So, I have been cleaning like crazy with his pee self leaving!
I had no idea a member of our dog training club did Crested Rescue!!!!
