Basmati Rice Ok?

Mags had a stressful day yesterday and now we get to deal with the effects!

I searched the website/forum and couldn't find anything about giving or not giving her basmati rice as part of the "bland diet" instead of instant rice. We don't have any instant rice in the house and of course, I didn't think about it until after I made a bland batch for her with basmati.

She can't have any yet, so I have time to do a little more research and wait for some guidance from here! Thanks!

WikiAnswers simply says, "Yes perfectly safe." 8)

I can't imagine any reason not to give a dog Basmati rice except for the fact that it is an expensive variety, but it should not make up a majority of the dog's diet on a regular basis. I regularly include some short-grain, Japanese style rice in my dogs' diet simply because that is what we often have available. Whatever variety you choose to use, however, I suspect that brown rice would be the best choice and certainly better than overly processed "instant" rice.
I have given all forms of rice to my babies except instant. We never use it. So I would say OK
It will be fine. It's what I usually have around the house.
