Annie is Still Kickin' at 12 yrs

I'm very happy to report that ole Annie (12 yrs this May) received a good bill of health today at the vet despite some gooky eyes and fatty cysts. She had a few extra "winter" pounds on her, but apparently her hips and knees look great to! YOU GO GIRL!

That is great Stacy. Having her healthy at 12 years old - good job! :D
Great news! I bet the extra exercise she's been getting since Fozzie came has helped her joints.

LOL :D She really is a very sweet girl...to big people :D

Minor issues they found:
1. She has little fatty cysts on both her eyelids which is irritating her cornea. Thus, the muscousy tears. We have drops to use 3 times a day for 5 days to hopefully calm things down. If not, we have a referal to an eye specialist right in the next town. Apparently, they wouldn't need to put her under to take those off. I don't know how they get them to hold still. I have an image of strapping her down and placing some crazy contraption to hold her eye open like from the "Clockwork Orange" movie 8O

2. She has a larger fatty cyst on her front leg which isn't causing any problems at the moment. They did aspirate and we await results. Nothing to be concerned with unless it gets larger or affects her walk.

There's also apparently some virus that has made a comeback in the area after 10 years no sight. I don't know what it's called but it's contracted from rodents. They suggested and Annie received a vaccine for it. I don't like the over vaccination, but I'd rather not take any chances right now.

Overall, great bill of health!
Way to go Annie and Stacy

Yes, that's it! They've seen several cases within the last year and highly recommend the vaccine.
