saw my derby

so most of you know i had to place my derby with my best friend, being he bit anyone that came near me.. well yesterday i had a gig paws at the park,, had not seen derby for 6 months but talked to me best friend who took him --well i saw my boy, oh he so saw me and jumped me then when after my duffy  but he seemed so happy once we separated and saw how he loved his new family , funny we have not seen each other for 6 months and when he saw me he when into that protective mode and pushed me over and would not let anyone near me,, thought it might change and i could bring him home!! gosh that made me so sad but on the upside happy that he loves his new dad .. but i do miss him just needed to vent ImageImage

Wasn't aware you had to give Derby away - how very sad for you! But I'm glad he loves his new family and is fitting in well. Isn't he protective of anyone in his new family? Strange, if he's not!
very weird he is with a mom and dad and another dog who he knew from a pup i think he hated being the leader her alone with me.. they told me he loves following the other dog.. and is not protective of the hubby .. or her .. i guess being the mom from when he was 4 weeks old found in a dumpster that had alot to do with it.. no matter how it kills me to let him go i had to think about my good boy derby.. after him stressing yesterday seeing me i know i did the right thing for him.. but not for me

This was not something you took lightly......
I am sure it was hard to see him again BUT, as
you said you did what was best for him! :(
That makes you the best mom ever...
that is so sad I am crying. you did the right thing and at least he is happy and you can keep in touch with your friend for updates but oh gosh....xxx
I'm glad you got to see Derby. It has to help knowing he is happy.
Sorry about the bad feelings. :(
Awee.... I'd die seeing a pet I had to give up, so I'm glad you had an overall happy visit (sad on inside but good overall knowing it was the right thing).
